Abstract

PURPOSE:To manufacture a traveler excellent in resistance to wear, corrosion, and oxidation at high temp., by manufacturing a traveler for spinning machine for use in a fine spinning machine, a yarn twisting machine, etc., by the use of a double boride-type hard sintered alloy having Fe as the base and containing alloying elements such as Cr, Mo, Ni, W, etc. CONSTITUTION:As a material for traveler for spinning machine for use in a fine spinning machine, a yarn twisting machine, etc., the double boride-type hard sintered alloy wire rod having Fe as the base, containing specific amounts of alloying elements such as Cr, Mo, Ni, W, etc., and having a density of 7.8-8.3g/cm<3> is used. Due to the presence of a hard phase of globular double boride, the traveler excellent in lubricity, wear resistance, and heat resistance, free from traveler burning, end breakage, and traveler scattering even at the time of high-speed operation of >=20,000rpm, and capable of stable operation can be obtained.

Conventional technology and its problems Traditionally, vertical and horizontal travelers used in spinning machines, yarn twisting machines, etc. are made of carbon steel wire rods, formed into a predetermined shape, and subjected to heat treatment such as quenching and tempering. It is used after increasing the hardness to a certain level. However, with the recent increase in the speed of spinning machines, there is a demand for a traveler that reduces the coefficient of friction with the rings used together, increases wear resistance, has a long life, does not cause traveler burnout, and has less yarn breakage and yarn fuzz. Therefore, the above-mentioned carbon steel traveler has insufficient heat resistance and wear resistance due to frictional heat generated during high-speed operation, resulting in traveler burn.
There are problems in that the above requirements cannot be satisfied due to traveler scattering, thread breakage, etc., which result in abnormal wear.

Means for Solving the Problems The present invention solves the above-mentioned problems, and consists of a composite steel having a density of 7.8 to 8.3 β and containing alloy components such as chromium, molybdenum, nickel, and tungsten in an iron paste. By using a compound-based hard sintered alloy to form vertical and horizontal travelers in predetermined shapes, they have lubricity even during high-speed operation, and have excellent wear resistance, heat resistance, and corrosion resistance. Due to the wear reduction effect of the co-metal, the lubricity between the trapels is good, and the trapels do not burn.

Effects of the Invention As described above, the present invention consists of a hard layer of fine-grained complex boride and a binder phase of iron paste filling it, and the hard phase particles are round and form a kind of solid lubricant layer on the surface. It has excellent lubricity, and has corrosion resistance and high-temperature oxidation resistance, so even under high-speed conditions, adhesive wear caused by oxidation due to Js friction generated by friction with the ring is unlikely to occur, and the amount of wear is small. Therefore, by using the same metal for the ring, the amount of wear is further reduced. Moreover, since it has excellent corrosion resistance, it is an invention that has excellent effects such as no rusting even in an oxidizing atmosphere.
