Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce a smaller bar code label in size and to expand the application range of the bar code label by displaying a pattern of parallel lines of the bar code label and numbers and characters that the pattern means by superposing them with other in different colors. CONSTITUTION:The bar code label 1 has a silver-colored substrate formed by vapor-depositing aluminum on a polyester film. Longitudinally long thick bars 2 and thin bars 3 are printed on said label with black ink and bar gap parts are colored in silver. Numbers 5 that the bar codes means are printed by superposing black bars with red ink to such a size that a human can seen them. When the bar code label 1 is read by a bar code reader which uses a red LED with >=600nm, red has the same reflectivity with white above 600nm wavelength, so a red character even when at a gap part between a black bar and a black bar has the same reflectivity with silver and there is no influence exerted upon the reading of the bar codes.

[Detailed Description of the Invention] [Field of Industrial Application] The present invention is a bar code in which a plurality of vertically long lines are lined up horizontally, and numbers and characters are generated by changing the thickness of the lines and the spacing between the lines and combining them. Regarding patterns.

Conventionally, this type of barcode label is as shown in Fig. 2, which consists of a plurality of vertically long lines, a portion (hereinafter referred to as the barcode section) 6 corresponding to the distance between the lines, and a barcode label. The number or letter part meant by part 6 (hereinafter referred to as the 2-character part)
It consists of 7.

It is well known that the barcode section 6 is a section that can be read by a barcode reader, and the character section 7 is a section that is displayed so that it can be viewed and read by humans.

ignal). In other words, the space between the lines should be a color with a reflectance of 31.6 inches or more and a density of 0.5 or less;
It is specified that the pcs value is 0.499 or more. Reflectance can be captured as a spectral reflectance curve using a spectrophotometer. Figure 3 shows reflectance curves for white and black art paper. In Figure 3, the reflectance of white is 85
The reflectance of black is around 2 to 3 degrees.

The closer the pcs value is to IK, the easier it is for a barcode reading device to recognize the barcode, so generally a barcode pattern of black on a white background is used. Furthermore, due to dirt in the space between the black pars or a defect at the boundary between the black bars, the >pcs value may decrease, resulting in poor reading.

In the conventional barcode label mentioned above, the barcode pattern part and the character part defined by the barcode pattern part are separate, and these parts are provided in separate areas, so the barcode label can be made smaller. When it is necessary to make it possible to paste the product in a narrow space, both the character part to be read by two people and the barcode/gut pattern part to be read by the reader are small. The present invention consists in overcoming the above-mentioned drawbacks and providing a smaller barcode label.

The barcode label of the present invention has a pattern of parallel lines made up of a narrow width par, a thick width par, and a margin (space) separating each par, and the number and meaning of the above-mentioned mother turns. In the barcodo label with characters, the number and characters that mean the 4th turn and the character of the corresponding turn are displayed in different colors.

FIG. 1 is an overall view of a barcode label that is an embodiment of the present invention. The barcode label 1 has a silver base made of a polyester film with aluminum vapor-deposited. The vertically long thick Par 2 and thin Par 3 are printed on the above label with black ink. The bar spacing portion 4 is silver in color. The number 5 in the barcode is printed in red ink over a black hoodie in a size large enough for a person to see.

This label was developed to be read by a barcode reader using a red LED with a wavelength of 660 nm. As shown in the spectral reflectance curve of FIG. 4, red color exhibits the same reflectance as white color at wavelengths of 600 nm or more. Therefore, even if there are red characters in the space between the black bars, the reflectance is equivalent to that of the underlying silver, and does not affect the reading of the barcode.

FIG. 5 shows yellow, orange, and red spectral reflectance curves. It is clear that the combination of the bar code reader's emission wavelength and the color of the bar allows the use of labels other than those described above.
