An example of the structure of this type of fender is, as shown in Figure 1, an impact plate A in which a plastic pad b is fixed to the surface of a hollow box-shaped metal frame a with a large number of bolts and nuts.

When a ship berths, if there is a restriction on surface pressure, the conventional method has been to increase the area of impact plate A to lower the surface pressure per unit area. In some cases, it did not make proper contact with the entire surface of A, causing dents and damage to the hull's outer plating.

In addition, as shown in Fig. 2, the conventional impact plate A has a plastic pad b attached to a metal frame a with bolts d.
If the plastic pad b is 30 m/m thick, the bolt mounting thickness is 12 m/m and the head of the M16 bolt is 13 m/m, so the thickness is such that pad b can be used effectively. Saha 5m/
Therefore, when pad b wore out by about 5 m/m, it had to be replaced.

Furthermore, in the past, a large number of bolts were used to attach the plastic pad b to the metal frame a, making it time-consuming to replace the plastic pad b.

In view of the above points, this idea was designed so that the plastic pads would fit along the hull, making it easy to replace the plastic pads, and even allowing the plastic pads to wear out twice as much as before. The aim is to provide an impact receiving plate that makes it possible to

A plastic pad 6 is inserted into the pad insertion chamber 4 through a cushion material 7 such as rubber, and has flanges 8, 8 on both sides of the base for engaging with the locking flange 2. In order to reinforce the flanges 8, 8, a reinforcing metal plate 9 is embedded in the base of the plastic pad 6.

The above plastic pad 6 is made of a strong plastic material with moderate hardness and excellent weather resistance and abrasion resistance (friction coefficient of 0.15 or less), which prevents damage to the side and outer panels and reduces peeling of the hull paint. It is said to be suitable for preventing fires on tankers.

The plastic pad 6 is inserted together with the cushion material 7 into the pad insertion chamber 4 of the metal frame 1 through the opening at one end, and after insertion, one end plate is welded to the metal frame 1, and the other end plate is fixed to the metal frame 1 by welding. are bolted to the metal frame 1 to facilitate replacement of the plastic pad 6. still,
Both end plates may be tightened with bolts and nuts.

As explained above, the impact receiving plate of this invention has a large number of partition walls with locking flanges arranged in parallel at equal intervals on the front surface of a metal frame, and a plastic part with flanges on both sides that engage with the locking flanges. Since the plastic pads are installed between each partition wall through cushion material so that they can be moved in and out independently, each plastic pad can be moved in and out independently along the ship's hull while the cushion material absorbs and softens the impact of the ship. Since the contact surface pressure per unit area can be lowered by applying uniform contact pressure to the entire surface of the impact receiving plate, the hull shell plate will not be dented or damaged.

Further, according to this invention, the plastic pad can be replaced by simply attaching and detaching one end plate of the pad insertion chamber of the metal frame, making the replacement work easy.

Furthermore, since the plastic pads are not attached with bolts and nuts as in the past, they can still be used even if they wear down to about twice the amount as before, which has the advantages of improving durability, reducing the frequency of replacement, and making effective use of the plastic pads.
