Usually, this type of pedal is configured such that a tread surface is provided on the surface of a pedal body supported on a pedal shaft, and the crank is rotated by placing the driver's foot on the tread surface and depressing the pedal.

By the way, when transmitting depressing force to the pedal body, if the tarsal bone is brought into contact with the tread surface, a very large depressing force can be transmitted to the pedal body over a long period of time with less fatigue. This makes it difficult to perform up-and-down movements centering on the ankle joint at the base of the fingers, and the operability when pedaling becomes poor, resulting in the inability to rotate the pedals at high speeds when riding a bicycle at high speeds.

Therefore, in general, the foot is placed so that the part from the phalanx side of the metatarsal bone to the phalange is in contact with the tread surface, an arch is formed between the ankle joint and the phalangeal joint at the base of the finger, and the foot is placed in contact with the tread surface. However, conventional pedals, as described in Japanese Utility Model Publication No. 56-3261, have two pedals parallel to the pedal shaft, front and rear across the pedal shaft. Since it has a narrow front tread and a narrow rear tread, when the base of the big toe of the foot that steps on the crank side of the front tread comes into contact with the tread, the base of the little toe will touch the front tread. The finger tip side shifts backward without making contact with the pedal body, so when the pedal body is transmitting the pedal force from the pedal body, it cannot be transmitted from the entire area between the big toe and the little toe, As a result, not only did the foot become easily fatigued, but it was also unable to transmit a large amount of force.

The present invention was devised in view of the above points, and when the base of the big toe of the foot that is stepping is brought into contact with the tread, the base of the little finger is always brought into contact with the tread, so that the tread force is transferred from the big toe to the tread. This allows the force to be transmitted from the entire area between the little toes, reducing the fatigue of the stepping foot and transmitting a large stepping force.
A pedal body is supported on a pedal shaft having a shaft portion for attaching to a crank arm at a base end, and the pedal is attached to a surface of the pedal body near the axis of the pedal shaft and at a position on the base end side of the pedal shaft. A first tread portion extending in the axial direction of the shaft and the longitudinal direction of the pedal body and having a tread surface having a predetermined area is provided, and the first tread portion is located rearward of the first tread portion and is offset toward the tip side of the pedal shaft. , a second tread portion having a tread surface having a predetermined area and extending in the axial direction of the pedal shaft and the front-rear direction of the pedal body is provided on a surface at a position isolated from the first tread portion. Incidentally, the first and second tread portions 4 and 5 are provided with a large number of anti-slip protrusions 41 and 51. These anti-slip protrusions 41, 51 are formed, for example, by tooth-like protrusions extending in the same direction as the axis of the pedal shaft 2, but they may also be formed in the shape of a mountain. Any shape may be used as long as it can prevent the feet from slipping when the feet are placed on the first and second tread parts 4 and 5.

Further, the height of each of the anti-slip protrusions 41 and 51 is made slightly lower than the surface around the first and second tread parts 4 and 5. By doing this,
When the stepping load acting on the first and second tread parts 4 and 5 is small, the foot stepping on the non-slip protrusion 4
1, 51, and prevent slippery protrusions 4.
1, 51 can be eliminated and fatigue can be reduced, and the first and second tread parts 4,
When the stepping load acting on 5 is large, the stepping force causes the foot to press against the anti-slip protrusions 41, 5.
1 has the advantage of preventing your feet from slipping. Note that the illustrated pedal body 3 includes the third
An auxiliary stepping body 6 extending rearward from the body piece 33 is integrally formed, and an auxiliary stepping surface 7 is provided on the upper surface of the auxiliary stepping body 6, with which the metatarsal bone c on the little finger side of the foot to be stepped on comes into contact. Further, this auxiliary tread surface 7 is provided with a non-slip protrusion 71 similar to the above-mentioned non-slip protrusions 41 and 51. Further, the auxiliary pedal body 6 may be formed integrally with the pedal body 3 or may be formed separately.

The present invention is constructed as described above, and when the base a of the big toe of the foot to be stepped on comes into contact with the first tread 4, the base b of the little toe is brought into contact with the second tread 5.
With the base a of the thumb and the base b of the little finger in contact with the first and second pedals 4 and 5, depress the pedal body 3, rotate the crank, and ride the bicycle. Let it happen. At this time, an arch is created by the metatarsals c and tarsals f that connect the ankle joint d and the phalangeal joint e at the base of the finger, and the stepping force is transferred from the base of the thumb b and the base of the little finger b. Since the force can be transmitted to the first and second tread parts 4 and 5, foot fatigue can be reduced and a large tread force can be transmitted. or,
The arch formed between the ankle joint d and the phalangeal joint e is made smaller, and the part of the metatarsal c on the tarsal bone f side is brought into contact with the auxiliary tread surface 7 located at the rear position of the second tread portion 5, The stepping force can be transmitted from the metatarsal c to the auxiliary tread 7, and at the same time from the base a of the thumb and the base b of the little finger to the first and second tread parts 4 and 5. The burden on the arch formed by the tarsal bone f can be reduced, and even greater stepping force can be transmitted.

As described above, the present invention supports a pedal body on a pedal shaft having a shaft for attaching to a crank arm at its base end, and supports the pedal body near the axis of the pedal shaft and on the base end side of the pedal shaft. A first tread part is provided on the surface of the pedal shaft, the first tread part extending in the axial direction of the pedal shaft and the longitudinal direction of the pedal body, and having a tread surface having a predetermined area. a second tread having a predetermined area, extending in the axial direction of the pedal shaft and the front-rear direction of the pedal body, on the surface of the pedal at a position isolated from the first tread portion;
When a tread is provided and the base of the big toe of the foot to be stepped is in contact with the first tread, the base of the little finger must be in contact with the second tread, and the stepping force is applied to the whole area between the big toe and the little finger. By transmitting the force from the ground, it is possible to reduce the fatigue of the foot when stepping on the pedal, and also to transmit a large force on the pedal.
