Abstract

PURPOSE:To make gate breaking of a riser for casting without generating fracturing gates and rises into a casting product itself by exerting pressure to the riser from the wall surface side of a gate part having the smaller angle between the gate part of the riser and the wall surface of a casting product. CONSTITUTION:The riser 15 for casting is formed via the gate part 17 in a rack-shaped projection 13 of the casting product 11. The angle theta1 between one wall surface in the gate part 17 of the riser 15 and the wall surface of the casting product 11 is set smaller than the angle theta2 between the wall surface opposite from the one wall surface of the gate part 17 and the casting product 11. A wedge member 23 is advanced in an arrow P direction into a marginal space 21 of the riser 15 for casting constituted in the above-mentioned manner to exert the force thereto via the projection 19 from the one wall surface side of the gate part 17. The gate part 17 is thereby broken from the wall surface of the casting product 11 on the surface or along a broken line 25 from the relation of a bending moment. The generation of the fracturing gates and risess into the casting product 11 is obviated.

FIG. 1 shows the first embodiment, and in the figure,
Reference numeral 11 indicates a cylindrical casting product, and a shelf-like protrusion 1 is provided on the outer surface.
It has 3. Further, 15 is a feeder, which is provided on the upper surface of the protruding portion 13 via a weir 17. Here, the lower surface of the storage part 17 (corresponding to one wall surface of the present invention) and the cast product 11
The angle θ· between the upper surface of the housing portion 17 (corresponding to the opposite wall surface in the present invention) and the wall surface of the cast product 11 is smaller than the angle between the upper surface of the housing portion 17 (corresponding to the opposite wall surface in the present invention) and the wall surface of the cast product 11.

In the casting riser formed in this way, in order to perform the weir folding of the riser 15, an allowance space 2 between the outer surface of the casting product 11 and the protrusion 19 is created.
1, the wedge member 23 may be inserted upwardly into I. When the wedge member 23 is inserted in this manner, as described above, the riser 15 rotates counterclockwise around the housing part 17, and due to the rotational moment, the weir part 17 moves against the wall surface of the cast product. Since it is bent on the surface or along the broken line 25 shown in FIG. 1, the cast product 11 does not suffer from wear. Note that a piston-cylinder mechanism may be used to move the wedge member 23 back and forth.
