Abstract

PURPOSE:To feed a lubricating oil smoothly to the bearing of an inside propeller shaft or a sealing device by providing one or plural lubricating oil distributing cases on the outer periphery of an outer shaft, and feeding a lubricating oil to said inside bearing and sealing device via the oil chamber of said distributing case connected to piping and a connecting port provided on said outer shaft. CONSTITUTION:A lubricating oil from a piping 21a is fed to the bearing of an inside propeller shaft through the oil feeding chamber 36 of a distributing case 22 and oil feeding port 23, and discharged from a piping 21n through an oil discharge port 24 and the oil discharge chamber 37 of the distribution case 22. Although the positions in the circumferential direction of the oil feeding port 23 and the oil discharge port 24 are varied due to the rotation of an outside propeller shaft 3, connection will not be cut off due to the oil feeding chamber 36 and the oil discharging chamber 37 which are formed in annular shapes. Thereby, the lubricating oil can be fed from a feeding piping which is fixedly provided in a hull to the inside of the outside propeller shaft 3 through the shaft 3 being rotated, enabling the bearing of the inside propeller shaft and a sealing device always to be fed with a proper quantity of lubricating oil, to improve their operating property and durability.

In view of the above points, the present invention aims to provide a supply method that enables lubricating oil to be smoothly supplied to the bearings and sealing devices of the inner propeller shaft. One or more lubricating oil distribution boxes are arranged around the outer circumference of the outer shaft of the stern tube device of a ship having a propeller, and the lubricating oil distribution box is connected to the piping through a communication hole drilled in the outer shaft of the oil chamber of the distribution box. It was decided to supply lubricating oil to the inner bearing or sealing device.

As explained above, the method for supplying lubricating oil to the stern tube of the present invention is to arrange an IT+ lubricating oil distribution box around the outer circumference of the outer shaft that is driven once, and to communicate through the communication hole drilled between the distribution box and the outer shaft. This system supplies lubricating oil to the inner sleeve bearings and sealing device, making it possible to smoothly and reliably supply oil to the inner sleeve side, which was one of the difficulties with counter-rotating propellers. The operability and durability of the sealing device can be improved.
