Generally, in an electrostatic recording apparatus, a recording/writing device (stylus) 2 is disposed below the recording paper path for ease of maintenance, inspection, etc., as shown in FIG. For this reason, a latent image is formed on the bottom surface of the recording paper 1, so if it is developed as it is, the bottom surface will be developed. This may cause problems such as contact with the guide device and the like, disturbing the toner image. In addition, if the conveyance speed of the developing and fixing section must be constant, a paper buffer space such as a recording paper loop forming section is required in the conveyance path, which increases the size of the device and requires a large installation area. .

The present invention is intended to solve the above-mentioned problems, and proposes an apparatus that incorporates a top-side development method that is advantageous in terms of transportation, stain prevention, and toner supply, and also enables miniaturization.

FIGS. 2a and 2b show an embodiment of the apparatus of the present invention, in which a roll of electrostatic recording paper 1, a recording/writing device 2 provided below the path of the recording paper 1, a feed roller 5, and a cutter 6 are arranged. Subsequently, a reversing guide plate 7 for reversing the recording paper 1 is provided, and a paper feed roller 9 is further provided via a sensor 10 for detecting the presence or absence of the recording paper 1. Further, a switching guide plate 8 is provided on a portion of the outer reversing guide plate 7' adjacent to the paper feed roller 9, and is configured to be able to freely rotate around a shaft 8', and is operated by a solenoid to switch the path of the recording paper 1. are doing. Further, above the reversing guide plate 7, a developing device 11, a fixing device 12, and a paper discharge tray 13 are provided along the path of the recording paper 1 divided by the switching guide plate 8.

First, when a recording start signal is input, the recording/writing device 2 starts scanning in synchronization with the feed roller 5 at the same time as the feed roller 5 starts feeding the recording paper. Here, the recording paper 1 with the latent image formed on its lower surface is reversed by the reversing guide plates 7 and 7', and the paper feed roller whose leading end is already rotating in the forward direction (clockwise rotation in the figure) 9 (Figure a). Since the circumferential speed of this roller 9 is greater than that of the previous feed roller 5, slippage occurs between the recording paper 1 and the paper feed roller 9. At this point, the sensor 10 is connected to the recording paper 1.
senses the presence of the robot, but does not issue any operation signals. Eventually, when the recording of the first sheet is completed, a recording end signal is issued, and the feed roller 5 feeds the recording paper 1 further by the bottom margin of the paper and then stops. Simultaneously with this stop, the cutter 6 cuts the recording paper 1. By this cutting, the recording paper 1 is released from the pressure of the feed roller 5, so that the paper feed roller 9 rapidly feeds the recording paper 1. Immediately before the trailing edge is pulled in, the sensor 10 detects that the recording paper 1 has run out, so in response to this signal, the paper feed roller 9 is first stopped, and then the solenoid 14 is activated to move the switching guide plate 8. It is lowered, closing the previous path and opening the path leading to the developing device 11 and fixing device 12. When this operation is completed, the paper feed roller 9 is reversed, and the recording paper 1, which has been fed with the latent image side up, is now passed through the developing and fixing devices along its path. Send and stop.

As described above, according to the present invention, a guide means for reversing the recording paper and a recording paper storage means following the guide means are provided between the recording paper cutting section and the developing section, and the recording paper storage means is provided via the switching means. Since the loading means is configured to be connected to the conveyance path leading to the developing section,
Even when the recording writing device is installed below the recording paper conveyance path, the developing device can be installed above the recording paper conveyance path. Furthermore, by providing a recording paper storage means as a buffer space for recording paper in the upper part of the recording writing section, the apparatus can be significantly miniaturized. can.
