Abstract

PURPOSE:To display a channel number and whether an electric field strength is strong or weak, on a display, by deciding the electric field strength by the level of a signal which is varied in accordance with the electric field strength level of a television broadcasting radio wave. CONSTITUTION:A video signal processing circuit 3 detects an RFAGC voltage at the time when some channel has been selected by a channel selecting circuit 7, reads this voltage by a comparing circuit 8 and sends it an electric field strength detecting circuit 9. The electric field strength detecting circuit 9 decides an electric field strength of its channel from a channel number obtained from the channel selecting circuit 7 and an electric field strength level obtained from the comparing circuit 8, and informs an electric field strength display data to a CPU in an image displaying circuit 10. The CPU stores it temporarily in a memory, and also, sends a switching signal for switching a video signal of a television broadcast to a video signal of an electric field strength display data, to an image signal switching circuit 11. By this switching signal, and electric field strength display of the television broadcast is executed.

Means for Solving the Problems In the television field strength display device of the present invention, the television receiver that receives and displays television broadcast waves displays a signal according to the field strength level of the television broadcast waves on the selected channel. One or more changing signals, such as RFAGC voltage or IFAGC voltage, are input into an A/D converter or voltage comparator, the output of which is detected, and the field strength of that channel is determined depending on the level of this signal. The electric field strength level is determined and displayed on the display so that the strength and weakness of the electric field strength level can be seen.

When a TV field strength display instruction is input using the operation switch 13, the channel selection circuit 7 notifies the field strength detection circuit 9 of the field strength display mode and starts automatic channel selection for sequentially switching channels. In the case of domestic TV broadcasts in Japan, the user selects channels from channel 1, and then changes channels one by one until channels 62 are selected. During this time, the signal level of each channel is detected. - As an example, the relationship between RFAGC voltage and RF signal level is shown in FIG. When the electric field strength of TV broadcasting exceeds 4 s dB, the RFAGC voltage gradually decreases, and under a 46 dB electric field, it was s, oV.
4. FAGC voltage under 60 dB electric field. It has become oV. In general, television broadcasting is S/ in the so dB electric field.
Although the N ratio is good and a beautiful screen can be displayed, when the electric field strength decreases to about 4 s dB, the image becomes contaminated with noise, and when the electric field strength decreases further to about 3 o dB, color signals cannot be reproduced, resulting in a black and white screen.

When automatically stopping TV broadcasting with automatic channel selection, use AFC.
The S-curve, horizontal pulse, horizontal synchronization signal, etc. of the signal are detected and the system is stopped at channels with TV broadcasting waves with an electric field strength of around 25 dB or higher, but this method is well known and will be omitted here. .

An example of this display is shown in FIG. 6A>. The channel selection circuit 7 sequentially transmits channel data and data indicating whether or not the field strength level is receivable to the image intensity detection circuit 9. The electric field strength detection circuit 9 further determines the electric field strength level input from the comparator circuit 8, detects whether the electric field of the channel is strong or medium 2 weak, and also determines the electric field strength level along with the data sent from the channel selection circuit 7. It is transmitted to the image display circuit 1o.
