Abstract

PURPOSE:To easily obtain a water-soluble barium salt, by reacting barium sulfate with anhydrous sodium carbonate under melting, dissolving the molten lump in water, filtering the solution, washing the filter cake with water and dissolving residual barium carbonate in nitric acid or hydrochloric acid. CONSTITUTION:Barium sulfate is melted together with anhydrous sodium carbonate to effect the double decomposition to barium carbonate and sodium sulfate. The molten lump is dissolved in water, filtered and washed with water. The residual barium carbonate is dissolved in nitric acid or hydrochloric acid to obtain the objective water-soluble barium salt. A water-soluble barium salt can be easily produced from barium sulfate which is insoluble in water and acid. The process is suitable e.g. for dissolving barium chromate in sulfuric acid to produce chromic acid solution and converting by-produced barium sulfate to a water-soluble barium salt necessary for regenerating to barium chromate.

に全く行なわれていない0〔発明が解決しようとする問
題点〕 硫酸バリウムは、塩酸、硝酸に溶解しないため、直接塩
化バリウム、硝酸バリウムをつくることができない。そ
のためクロム酸バリウムを硫酸で溶かしてクロム酸溶液
を得る際、副生ずる硫酸バリウムは、再度クロム酸バリ
ウムに再生する工業的な方法はなかった。例えば硫酸バ
リウムは、クロム酸ナトリウムとは反応しないので、こ
れを−亘水溶性バリウム塩類に変えて反応させる必要が
ある。更に水溶性バリウム塩である炭酸バリウムを製造
しようとして、硫酸バリウムを濃厚な炭酸ナトリウム水
溶液と煮沸させても、少部分、のみ複分解を行なうのみ
で100チ炭酸バリウムに変化しない。
