In other words, in the method using a welding jig, a reference pin is provided on the jig and the reference pin is inserted into a through hole of the sheet metal part, or the sheet metal part is clamped by a pair of jig supports. . In addition, when spot welding small-sized sheet metal parts and when very high precision is not required, an emboss is formed on one of the sheet metal parts, and this emboss is clamped with a wire harness.

In other words, the method of using a welding jig naturally requires a jig holder, and recently the price of jig holders has increased significantly, and welding jigs must be newly manufactured for each model change of the applicable vehicle, which is not economically viable. This was a significant disadvantage. On the other hand, the method of forming embossing on sheet metal parts is limited to small-sized parts and cannot be used for assembling parts that require high precision.

In the case of automobiles, it can also be used on flanges around doors and windows where there should be no protrusions. Further, there is no possibility that the protrusion 3 will hit other parts and damage them during the parts assembly work. Furthermore, since the engagement hole 5 is closed by crushing the protrusion 3, stress concentration is eliminated, the strength of the component is increased, and rust, water leakage, etc. do not occur.

An engagement hole or an engagement recess that engages with the protrusion is provided on the other side, and the protrusion and the engagement hole or the engagement recess are engaged with each other to determine the position, and in this state, the two sheet metal parts are welded. , has the following effects. That is, there is no need to use a welding jig for positioning, and it is sufficient to use a minimum number of welding jigs to prevent welding distortion, so the cost of the jig can be greatly reduced. Further, when the welding method of the present invention is used, for example, for the body of an automobile, the accuracy of the body can be improved and the quality can be easily maintained and managed.
