ンスの増加による電力消費量の増大、電極棒自体の抵抗
発熱の増大に伴う発熱酸化あるいはガス酸化に起因する
電極消耗量の増加、さらには電極棒が炉蓋に接触する等
による電極棒の折損事故の頻発等を招き操業コストが高
くつく問題があった。
