運転席から前方を見て、左側に設けられた前後
組合せ反射鏡の一例を以下に説明する。尚、運転
席から前方を見て右側にも同様に左右対称に鏡を
配置したものを用いることが出来る。第１図で５
に後方からの入射光線で後方反射鏡１によつて反
射光線６になり運転者１０に至る。７は前方から
の入射光線で前向き凸面鏡２により反射光線８と
なるが、反射光線８は入射光線７とは左右逆にな
つている。反射光線８は更に反射鏡３によつても
う一度左右反転し、元通りの向きの反射光線９と
なつて運転者１０に至る。第２図は反射鏡箱４の
断面を、前後方反射鏡１の側より見たもの。第３
図は反射鏡箱４の断面を前向き凸面鏡２の側より
見たものである。
１：後方反射鏡、２：前向き凸面鏡、４：反射
鏡箱、５：後方からの入射光線、６：５の反射光
線、７：前方からの入射光線、８：７の反射光線
、９：８の反射光線、１０：運転者。
