、 該印字ヘツドと該用紙検出装置との往復運動方
向の距離が、該プリンターに使用される用紙の最
大マージン以上であり、かつ、 (a) 該ハンマーバンクの往復運動による、断続
した用紙検出装置からの検出信号により、用紙の
左右いずれかの辺の位置を検出する、辺位置検出
手段と、 (b) 前記(a)で最初に検出された辺の位置と、予
め決められた用紙送り量を越えるごとに検出され
る辺の位置とから算出される用紙の偏りを、偏り
の基準値と比較し、基準値を超えた値を検出する
