Abstract

PURPOSE:To make operations at night easier by a method in which an illuminator is incorporated in the hollow shaft of a handle attached to the upper part of a shovel shaft in such a way as to focus light on the front and back sides of the shovel through a transparent plastic window provided on the downside of the hollow shaft. CONSTITUTION:An illuminator consisting of a socket 8 and an electric bulb, 9 having a battery housing chamber 11 and a reflecting mirror 10, is incorporated in the hollow shaft 2 of a handle attached to the upper part of a shovel shaft 1. A window of transparent plastics 7 is provided on the downside of the shaft 2, so that light is focused on the front and back sides of the shovel by operating a switch provided to the front of the chamber 11. Operations can thus be exactly and easily performed without resorting to head light.
