Abstract

PURPOSE:To remove waterdrops sticking to the surface of a mirror, by supporting the mirror by means of a supporting body under a vibratable condition and providing an exciting device which vibrates the mirror between the mirror and supporting body. CONSTITUTION:It sometime happens that waterdrops stick to the surface of the mirror 7 of an outside mirror 1 of a car when driving in the rain. Therefore, a switch 18 is actuated when the waterdrops sticking to the mirror surface reach a prescribed quantity. Then the primary side voltage of an ignition device 9 is inputted to an exciting device 8 and the device 8 vibrates in accordance with the fluctuating frequency of the primary side voltage produced when a thyristor 15 is conducted. When the exciting device 8 vibrates, a mirror holder 6 vibrates, with the spherical bearing 5a of a supporting shaft 5 acting as a supporting point. As the mirror holder 6 vibrates, the mirror 7 also vibrates and the waterdrops sticking to the surface of the mirror 7 are removed. Therefore, the mirror 7 can be vibrated and the waterdrops sticking to the surface of the mirror 7 can be removed automatically by means of a simple structure which applies a voltage across the exciting device 8.
