Household branch breakers are usually equipped with 15 or 20 amp trips to protect each circuit from overcurrent. However, this current value is too large to protect each electrical device.

Furthermore, when the breaker is tripped at night, the electric light circuit is also disconnected, which necessitates recovery work in the dark, which is dangerous and inconvenient.

FIG. 2 shows the circuit system of the outlet shown in FIG. In the figure, parts corresponding to those in FIG. 1 are given the same reference numerals. Reference numerals 51 to 54 indicate current responsive elements, each of which is configured to trip when a predetermined current is detected.

First, the current response elements 51 to 54 of a predetermined capacity, such as the current response element 52, are selected and connected using the current value setting knob 2 in accordance with the current capacity of the electrical equipment to be used, and the plug of the electrical equipment is inserted into the outlet 3. When the electrical equipment is in a normal state, it continues to operate in the same state, but if a current larger than the set current of the current-responsive element 52 flows due to some kind of failure, the current-responsive element 52 is immediately cut off, and the electrical equipment is interrupted. Power is cut off to protect the equipment.
When the current responsive element 52 is finally disconnected, the reset button 4 pops out to the surface and a trip display is performed. When the reset button 4 is pressed after the failure of the electrical equipment is repaired, the current responsive element 52 is connected and the power is restored. In addition, the reset button 4 and the reaction element 5
2 can be easily realized by known means using a spring or the like.

According to the present invention having the above structure, it operates before the branch circuit breaker, so it is possible to reliably protect electrical equipment, and it also cuts off the power only to the faulty electrical equipment, so that the breaker is not activated. Since it does not shut off, other electrical equipment in use can continue to be used as is.

Note that it is also possible to use one current responsive element and connect a variable resistor to it to set the current value.
