However, in the chain-driven passenger conveyor as described above, in order to stably invert the treadle 6 so as not to interfere with the operation of the conveyor, it is necessary to rotate the treadle 6 around the outer circumference of the chain gear using the chain-wrapped portions at both ends. , a guide device with which the tread roller 7 of the tread plate 6 is rollingly engaged must be installed. However, such a guide device complicates the structure of both ends of the conveyor, makes installation and adjustment of the guide device complicated at the installation site, and generates vibration and noise due to collision between the guide device and the tread roller. There were flaws.

On the other hand, at both open ends of the outgoing rails 21, 22 and the return rails 23, 24, that is, at the inverted portion of the treadle 31, as the outgoing and return sides of the treadle links 25, 26 are moved in the directions of arrows A and B,
The most advanced tread roller 2 on the outbound rails 21 and 22
9 and 30 are the outward rails 21 and 30 as shown in FIG.
22, and the return rail 2
The rearmost tread rollers 29'', 30'' on 3, 24 move at the same speed in the direction away from the open ends of the return rails 23, 24, and at the same time, the tread rollers 29', 29', which are in a free state and protrude from the outbound and return rails, move at the same speed.
30' is moved towards the open end of the return rails 23,24. The tread rollers 29, 30 and 29', 30', 2 are in the state shown by solid lines in FIG.
When 9'' and 30'' are in the state shown by the two-dot chain lines, the adjacent treadle 31, which is V-shaped as shown on the left side of FIG. 3, is shifted to the right-angled state shown on the right side of FIG. Therefore, on the left side of FIG. 3, the treadle on the outbound rail side is sequentially reversed and transferred to the return rail side, and on the right side of FIG. 3, the treadle on the return rail side is sequentially reversed and transferred to the outbound rail side. At this time, a pair of tread rollers 29', 3 protruded from the outbound and return rails.
0' reverses while drawing a constant trajectory (almost equivalent to a parabola), and since the distance H between the roller rolling surfaces of the outgoing rail and the return rail is equal to the pitch P of the tread links 25 and 26, the tread reverses. The treadle rollers 29, 30 contact the roller rolling surfaces 21a, 22a and 23a, 24a of the outbound and return rails tangentially and do not collide.

As described above, according to the present invention, the distance between the roller rolling surfaces of the outbound rail for guiding the tread rollers and the return rail at the end of the conveyor is made equal to the pitch of the endless tread link that drives the conveyor, so that the tread When the reversing portions at both ends perform a reversing operation, at least one pair of the two pairs of tread rollers that guide the treadle is engaged with the outbound and return rails, and moreover, during the reversal process of the treadle, it is in a free state. Since the treadle rollers placed on the treadle are reversed along a fixed trajectory, there is no need to provide a treadle guide device at the treadle reversal section unlike in conventional chain-driven passenger conveyors. This eliminates the generation of vibration and noise caused by the tread roller colliding with the guide device, and simplifies the structure of the tread inversion section, reducing conveyor manufacturing costs. By simply adjusting the distance between the roller rolling surfaces, the tread roller can be brought into tangential contact with the roller rolling surfaces, and vibrations during reversal can also be reduced.
