Abstract

PURPOSE:To decrease the size of a sense panel surface by attaching a sensor to a penholder to sense the force applied to the pen point or the vector of displacement, and indicating the input of characters to a computer, etc. according to the vector change in terms of time. CONSTITUTION:Two pairs of X and Y direction sensors containing piezoelectric elements are attached to the pen point of a pen type data input device to sense the force applied to the pen point or the vector of displacement. Then the conduction rubber is set between the core of the pen and a case serving as the pen holder. Thus the force or displacement detected by the sensors is extracted according to the change of the resistance value of said conduction rubber. In another example, a permanent magnet is attached to the pen core and the movement of the pen is detected by a coil attached to the main body of the pen. The characters are supplied to a computer 3 via a vector pattern analyzer 2 based on the change of vector in terms of time.

な状態でデータ入力やコンピュータへの命令を出すこと
ができる点である。
