DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION The present invention relates to a water drain device for water heaters, etc., in which the drain valve is automatically opened and closed in response to changes in the internal pressure of the water passage due to the opening and closing of the water source and outlet valves. This is to ensure accurate drainage of water.

In conventional water heaters, water is drained from the water passage in order to prevent various accidents caused by freezing in winter, but until now, draining water has been done by closing the water tap and opening the water tap. However, the drain valve had to be opened manually, making the work complicated.

The figure shows the case implemented in a water heater, i.e.
In Fig. 1, 1 is the main body of the water heater, 2 is a water passage, and a water tap 3 is provided at the tip of the water heater, and a water tap 4 is provided at the base end. A water draining device 5 is connected between them. Second
The figure shows the configuration of the water draining device 5, in which the inside of the case 7 is divided into two chambers 9 and 10 by a diaphragm 8, and one chamber 9 is upstream from the water source valve 4 of the water passage 2 via a communication passage 11. On the side, the other chamber 10 has a communication passage 1
2, a pressure response device connected to the downstream side of the water main valve 4, 13 a water drain passage branched from the water passage 2 via a valve seat 14, and 15 linked to the diaphragm 8 to connect the valve seat A normally closed drain valve that opens and closes the valve seat 14 with a spring 16.
It is energized in the direction of being in close contact with.

In the above configuration, when the water heater is in a normal operating state or in a rest state, the water tap 4 is open, and therefore, regardless of whether the water tap 3 is opened or closed, water is supplied equally to both chambers 9 and 10. The water pressure is applied and the diaphragm 8 does not operate, so the water drain valve 15 closes the valve seat 14 due to the action of the spring 16.

However, when the water source valve 4 is closed and the water outlet valve 3 is opened, pressure is no longer transmitted to one chamber 10, so the diaphragm 8 resists the spring 16 and moves the drain valve 15 away from the valve seat 14, causing the water to drain. The water remaining in the water passage 2 on the downstream side of the water source valve 4 is discharged through the drain passage 13. Further, since no load is normally applied to the diaphragm 8, the life characteristics are superior to those in which a load is constantly applied to the diaphragm. In addition, in order to prevent the drain valve 15 from being opened inadvertently due to instantaneous water pressure changes in the water passage such as water hammer, a check valve 17 is provided in the communication passage 11 as shown in FIG. A bypass passage 18 with a small opening area is arranged in parallel with the stop valve 17.

In other words, the pressure is buffered by the bypass passage 18 with a small opening area, and the drain valve 15 is inadvertently prevented.
operation disappears. Of course, if you open the water valve 4 from the water draining state and return to the normal state, the check valve 1
7 opens, the drain valve 15 quickly returns to the closed state.

As described above, according to the present invention, when the water source valve is closed and the water outlet valve is opened, the water drain valve automatically opens to drain water, which is a simpler operation than before, and prevents breakdowns due to freezing. It can be easily prevented.

In addition, since no load is normally applied to the diaphragm, its service life is excellent, and it is also possible to prevent the drain valve from opening inadvertently due to changes in water pressure.
