DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION This invention relates to a bonding structure for a seat cover for a vehicle, particularly for a seat cover whose uppermost surface is made of natural or synthetic fibers. This invention particularly relates to a seat cover body for two-wheeled vehicles such as motorcycles and scooters, or open cars or special vehicles that do not have a roof integrated with the body.

Seats on motorcycles or non-canopy vehicles such as those mentioned above are
In consideration of rainfall, most leathers are made of a non-water permeable skin called plastic leather, such as polyvinyl chloride resin or vinyl chloride-vinyl acetate copolymer resin. however,
Although plastic seats do not allow rainwater to seep into the interior of the seat, these seats can become hot in the summer due to direct sunlight, and cooled down by cold air in the winter, resulting in discomfort when sitting. There's nothing like it. In addition, the texture and texture are poor, and there are restrictions in terms of color and design. On the other hand, modern two-wheeled vehicles, especially small-displacement motorcycles and scooters, have become easy to ride as family bikes and for around town, and as they do so, they tend to become more fashionable.

Under these circumstances, the inventor of the present invention has developed a fabric that has a surface fabric made of natural or synthetic fibers that is less affected by direct sunlight and outside temperature, has a good texture, and can be selected from a wide variety of materials and colors. On the other hand, we have developed a seat cover body that is functional as a seat for motorcycles or non-canopy vehicles and has a structure that does not allow moisture such as rainwater to pass through.

However, in order to cover the seat core, this type of seat cover must be formed into a substantially bag-like shape with a predetermined curved surface, but if the outer fabric is made of fiber, conventional cover materials cannot be used. The parts cannot simply be joined by thermal bonding.
Therefore, in such a case, for example,
As described in the publication, it has been proposed to sandwich a plastic sheet for fusing between the joints of both cover material parts and join each cover material through this plastic sheet, but this structure In other cases, since the outer fabric is continuous to the inside of the joint, moisture penetrates through the outer fabric, making it impossible to obtain a sufficient waterproof effect. Because of this, it was necessary to apply decorative treatments such as beads. Furthermore, sewing with a sewing machine or the like is not only a complicated process, but also has a high risk of moisture seeping into the seat through the seams. Therefore, the present inventor has conducted further research and hereby proposes an effective bonding structure for a cover body having this type of fiber layer.

That is, this invention consists of an outer fabric made of natural or synthetic fibers, a thermoplastic plastic sheet integrally bonded to the back surface of the outer fabric, and a flexible plastic sheet integrally bonded to the back surface of the plastic sheet. At the joint part of the seat cover body, which is formed by joining each cover material part made of a laminate of foam sheets and forming it into a predetermined shape, the joined edges of each cover material part constituting the said joint part are It is formed of the plastic sheet from which the outer fabric has been removed and the plastic foam sheet, and each cover material portion is formed by bending the bonded edge of the cover material portion toward the back surface of the seat cover body. The present invention relates to a joint structure for a vehicle seat cover body, characterized in that both cover material parts are integrally joined by facing and fusion-bonding the plastic sheets.

As shown in the figure, this seat S has an outer fabric 11 made of natural or synthetic fibers as the top layer, and a thin plastic sheet made of soft vinyl chloride resin, polyethylene resin, etc. that is integrally bonded to the back side of the outer fabric 11. 13, and a flexible sheet integrally joined to the back surface of the plastic sheet 13.
Cover material portions 10A and 10B made of a laminate of plastic foam sheets 15, such as soft polyurethane foam, are joined together to form a seat cover body 10 having a predetermined shape. This cover body 10 covers a seat core body 20 made of a plastic foam such as polyurethane foam, molded into a predetermined seat shape, to form a seat S. Reference numeral 25 in FIG. 1 is a metal seat frame.

The outer fabric 11 constituting the uppermost layer of the seat cover materials 10A and 10B is generally called a fabric, and includes moquette and felt-like materials, and the outer fabric 12 having a brushed surface is preferably made of a material. It is. Further, it is preferable that the outer fabric 11 or 12 is treated to be water repellent using silicone or the like.

The plastic sheet 13 is integrally joined to the back surface of the outer fabric 11 by, for example, a known flame lamination (flame bonding), which is a type of heat fusion bonding. The plastic sheet 13 is the outer fabric 1.
A soft and thin material that can adapt to the movements of 1 or 12 is desirable. The thickness of the sheet 13 is 10 to 100μ
degree would be preferable. This plastic sheet 13 is integrally bonded to the back surface of the outer fabric 11 or 12, thereby preventing moisture such as rainwater that has passed through the outer fabric from penetrating into the interior of the seat and impregnating it.

The plastic foam sheet 15 has flexibility and is integrally joined to the plastic sheet 13 by frame lamination or the like, and has unique cushioning properties as a cover material and the outer fabric 11. Or it contributes to improving the feel of item 12.

Laminated on the bottom surface of the cover material 10A' in FIG. 3 is a reinforcing cloth 16 made of nylon fiber or the like.
This facilitates sliding between the cover material 10' and the seat core 20, and prevents the plastic foam sheet 15 from being exposed to the lower surface of the cover material, thereby preventing it from deteriorating or being worn out. It is something to do.

Next, the cover material portion 10A having the above configuration is
The structure of the coupling portion J of 10B and 10B will be explained with reference to FIG. As can be understood from the figure, in this joint J, the seat cover material portion 10A and the side cover material portion 1 are trimmed into a predetermined shape.
Epidermis 11 which is the top layer near each edge of 0B
a and 11b are removed, and the parts consisting of the laminate of plastic sheets 13a, 13b and plastic foam sheets 15a, 15b are bonded to the respective cover material parts 10A, 10B at edges 16a, 16b.
They are each formed as follows. The joining edges 16a and 16b are respectively bent toward the back surface of the seat cover body, overlapped, and fused together to be joined together. That is, the outer fabrics 11a and 11b made of natural or synthetic fibers of the cover material portions 10A and 10B do not contribute to heat fusion, so they are removed, and the heat fusion bondable plastic films 13a and 13b and the plastic foam sheet 15a are removed. , 15b portion is joined to the edge 16
a and 16b, which are bent and fused to the back side. In this case, it goes without saying that the edges of each of the outer fabrics 11a and 11b are pressed together so as not to create a gap, but since the outer fabric is a fibrous layer, this process can be carried out well. This is particularly advantageous in the case of outer fabrics having raised surfaces. Note that it is advantageous for the fusion to be performed using a known high-frequency welder for curve processing and the like.

In the case of the seat cover body having the above-mentioned joint, since the laminated parts of the plastic film and the plastic foam sheet are fused together, not only an extremely strong joint is ensured, but also It is possible to completely prevent moisture from penetrating into the interior of the seat through the joint. Further, since the joining is performed by the joining edge bent toward the back surface of the seat cover body, the appearance of the surface of the cover body is good. Furthermore, since the outer fabric of the cover material of this invention is made of natural or synthetic fibers, it is easy to treat the joints of each outer fabric, and the joining lines can be made almost invisible from the surface side. Alternatively, if necessary, it is also possible to easily perform color coordination by exposing tight joining lines.
