Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent the formation of the fish tail of a rolling material and to reduce the size over the entire part of an installation by disposing a flying cross press device between a supply section for a high-temp. crude steel and primary rolling device. CONSTITUTION:The high-temp. crude steel 2 heated in a heating furnace 1 is supplied via a descaling device 3 to a roughing mill device 6. The flying cross press device 7 is disposed between the descaling device 3 on the outlet side of the furnace 1 and the 1st stage of the rolling device of the device 6. A device 7 is constituted of metallic molds 8, 9 to make cross rolling reduction of both cross ends of the crude steel 2 by press contact therewith, a frame 10 and screw down cylinders 11, 12. The frame 10 is moved by feed cylinders 13, 14 along the supply line for the crude steel 2. The high-temp. crude steel 2 is cross rolled down by the molds 8, 9 during the movement. 移送、減速、停止の移送サイクルが必要で、非常に大き
な動力を使うと共に高温粗鋼に傷を与える原因なる欠点
を有している。
