PURPOSE:To enable a water pump to be firmly mounted, by integrally mounting a cylinder sleeve body, having strength larger than that of a cylinder block main unit, to its inside and integrally forming a water pump mounting part in said cylinder sleeve body. CONSTITUTION:This cylinder block B has a cylinder block main unit 1 formed by casting from an aluminum alloy. Said main unit 1 comprises a cylinder part 11, providing space 4 for containing a cylinder sleeve body 2 opening its upper and bottom, and a skirt part 12 connecting with the bottom part of said cylinder part. And the cylinder sleeve body 2, consisting of high wearing resistant cast iron, is integrally mounted into the containing space 4 of said main unit 1 by cast molding of internal chill or the like when the main unit 1 is cast. And a pump mounting part 15, forming a pump chamber 16, suction port 17 and a delivery port 18 of a water pump, is integrally formed in one end corner part in the lengthwise direction of the sleeve body 2, enabling the water pump to be firmly mounted.

ロック本体自体もウォータポンプを取付けのための剛性
を保有させる必要があり、その結果シリンダブロック全
体の鋳造コスト増を招くという問題がある。

示すようにシリンダスリーブ体2の外周上部には、前記
4つのシリンダスリーブ5・・・をそれぞれ囲むように
、複数のボス部12・・・が間隔を存して一体に形成さ
れており、これらのボス部12・・・には、各シリンダ
スリーブ5・・・の軸vAL −Lと略平行な有底のへ
ラドポルト孔13が穿設され、該へ・7ドボルト孔13
は、前記クローズドデツキ面に開口される。
