[Detailed Description of the Invention] The present invention relates to a folding defect detection device in a paper folding device such as a printer. In a conventional folding device, the printed paper is smoothly folded by a paddle and deposited on a table. The table is configured to be able to move up and down, and descends as sheets are piled up. To take out the paper, due to restrictions such as connection with other equipment and paper handling, the table must be lowered and then removed from the front of the device (first
The paper was pulled out (on the left side of the figure). As shown in FIG. 1, the folding defect detection device is constructed by installing a holding plate on the upper part of the frame of a paddle 5 supported on the main body so as to be movable in the horizontal direction according to the width of the paper.
is installed, a projector 3 is installed below it, and the positional relationship between the two is set so that its optical path intersects the paper folding path. Here, the paper folding path refers to the space through which the paper, which has been stretched during conveyance, is gradually bent and stacked on the table by the paddle, as shown by dotted line A in FIG. 4. In this configuration, the volume of the lower projector and its support section is inevitably large, so the paper is likely to come into contact with the projector or damage it when taking out the paper, and the space below is taken up when lowering the table to take out the paper. Due to this restriction, the amount of paper stock on the table is reduced.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION An object of the present invention is to provide a paper folding device that has excellent operability in taking out paper and can accommodate a large amount of paper. This invention simplifies the lower structure of the folding failure detection device by providing a projector and a receiver at the top of the optical path, and only a reflecting mirror at the bottom of the optical path, thereby improving the operability of paper removal and securing the stock amount. It is something.

Embodiments of the present invention will be described using the drawings. Subject 2
3, the reflecting mirror 4 is attached to the paddle 5, and moves horizontally with the paddle 5 according to the length of the paper, so that it can move along the edge of the paper, that is, the crease of the folded and accumulated paper, in the paper of various folding lengths. Detection is always performed at a constant distance (dimension L) from the part. Light emitted from a light emitter 3 placed above the paddle 5 is reflected by a mirror 4 and enters a light receiver 2. Since it is sufficient for the width of the mirror 4 to be equal to or larger than the diameter of the light beam, it is sufficient that both the width and the thickness are extremely small. A prism can also be used instead of a mirror.

The present invention is a photoelectric detection device that detects paper folding defects, which occur when paper is not properly folded from the crease line and bulges out during stacking and flies out of the folding path, as described above. The lower part of the optical path is configured with a reflective mirror, thereby eliminating the need for wiring such as a light receiver. This has excellent practical effects in that the lower detection device can be greatly simplified, paper retrieval performance is improved compared to conventional devices, and paper stock can be secured.
