In a hermetic compressor in which an electric motor section and a compressor section driven by the electric motor section are housed in a sealed case, an end ring is provided at the upper end of the rotor constituting the electric motor section, covering the upper end of the end ring to close off the internal space of the end ring. The case also has passages extending radially outward from the axial center thereof, has vane-like protrusions radially on the upper surface, and supplies pressurized air from these passages to the axial center of the case.
