Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide a small-sized and light weight air conditioner having simple structure by a method wherein an outer casing provided with a single cross-flow fan is divided into two sections by a partition plate at an axial part of a fan so as to define an interior air passage and an external air passage and a heat exchanger is arranged at each of the air passages. CONSTITUTION:An outer casing 1 is divided into a first section 1a and a second section 1b by a partition plate 5 provided with a through-hole 5a in which a cross-flow fan 4 is rotatable. The first section 1a is provided with a front grill 6 at the interior side, an interior air passage part 8 is formed by the wall member 7 and an evaporator 9 is arranged in the air passage and a stabilizer 10 is provided at the intermediate part of the inner side. Air flowed from the interior through the grill 6 under a rotation of the fan 4 is cooled by two times by an evaporator 9, thereafter the air is returned back to the interior through the grill 6.
