Abstract

PURPOSE:To bind airtightly the tight mating faces of metallic members and to coat and form plating films of a low melting alloy on the surface of both members by inserting the assembling wall part of the other member into the cylindrical hole part of the metallic member and caulking the two parts then immersing said parts into a molten bath of the low melting metal. CONSTITUTION:The assembling wall part 4 of the metallic member 3 such as tubular member is inserted into the cylindrical hole 2l of the metallic member 1 of a joint or fuel tan, etc. The inserted part 5 is caulked from the outside peripheral side to the tight mating state. The inserted part is immersed in this state into the molten bath of the low melting metal consisting of tin, lead, zinc or the alloy thereof. The low melting metal is then penetrated into the part 5 to bind airtightly the tight mating faces as well as to coat and form the plating films 6 of the low melting metal on the surfaces of both members 1, 3. The need for a post treatment such as rust preventive treatment after fixing is eliminated by the above-mentioned method.

However, with this type of fixing method, work management is extremely complicated due to the manual heating means such as burners, and mechanical properties often deteriorate due to overheating, resulting in cracks and breakage near the insertion part. On the other hand, due to insufficient heating, welding or soldering was insufficient, resulting in fiber opening that caused leakage, etc.

In addition, in the case of all-pole members that have been previously plated with solder or zinc, it is necessary to remove the plating film in the vicinity of the mating parts prior to the above-mentioned mutual welding or soldering. In addition, after the melting layer or soldering, it is necessary to remove oxides, flux residues, etc. in the melting layer and the soldering part, and to avoid rust prevention treatment by forming a partial plating film. This method has the problem of requiring a cumbersome processing step and resulting in a significant reduction in productivity.

The present invention has been made to solve the above-mentioned conventional problems, and in order to assemble the other metal member into the cylindrical hole of the metal member, a wall portion is inserted into the cylindrical hole portion of the metal member, and the fitting portion is caulked to form a tight seal. The bonded state is immersed in a molten bath of a low-melting metal made of tin, lead, zinc, or an alloy thereof, and as the low-melting metal penetrates into the mating part, the mating surfaces are airtightly bonded. The object of the present invention is to propose a fixing method for assembling metal members together by coating the surfaces of the metal members with a coating film of the low-melting metal.

Since the present invention focuses on a fixing method for assembling such metal members to each other, by dipping the low-melting metal into the molten bath, the fitting portion (5) can be sufficiently penetrated and the metal members can be truly bonded. Therefore, even if the metal parts (1) and (3) are in a different state after being plated with solder or zinc, there is no need to remove the plating film, and in relation to the molten bath. It is easy to carry out dipping treatment in the same state, and furthermore, it is possible to completely eliminate the need for post-treatment steps such as anti-corrosion treatment by applying a partial plating film after solidification.

Example 1 The cylindrical hole of the joint having a hole diameter of 8.2% has a tube diameter of 8.0%.
~ To assemble the end of a carbon steel piping member with a wall thickness of 0.71, the wall portion is inserted, and then the mutually inserted portion is caulked from the outside over the entire circumference to form a tight fit. After that, normal cleaning treatment such as degreasing and derusting is performed, and the solder is further immersed in a molten bath of general solder for 5 seconds to allow sufficient penetration of the solder into the insertion part, forming an airtight bond between the mating surfaces. At the same time, the entire surface of the joint and piping member could be coated with the solder film.

Example 2 The cylindrical wall part K provided in a fuel tank with a pore diameter of 10.5% and the end part of a carbon steel pipe member having a pipe diameter of 10.3% were assembled by inserting the wall parts, and then fitting them together. After caulking the inserted part from the outside over the entire circumference to create a tight fit,
Furthermore, the solder is immersed in a molten bath of general solder for 10 seconds, and as the solder penetrates into the fitting part sufficiently, the fitting surfaces are joined in an airtight manner, and at the same time, a part of the fuel tank and the entire pipe member are A coating film of the solder can be formed on the surface.

As mentioned above, the assembly and fixing method according to the present invention can perform airtight bonding and film forming treatment at the same time by immersion treatment in the molten bath of the low-melting metal. Dipping makes work management during binding extremely simple,
This eliminates the problem in the prior art caused by overheating or insufficient heating at the fitting part (5), and eliminates the need to remove the plating film applied in advance to the metal members (1) and (31) when bonding. Furthermore, it has many effects, such as completely eliminating the need for post-treatment steps such as rust prevention treatment by applying another plating film in the vicinity of the bonded portion after bonding.
