Abstract

PURPOSE:To increase the strength around an opening of rear seat back support panel by overlapping the upper end section of rear seat back support panel and the front end section of parcel board thus forming a cross member having closed cross-section. CONSTITUTION:The front end section of parcel board 3 is folded downward to form a fixing flange 3a which is spot welded to the front face at the upper end section of rear seat back support panel 1. While the rear seat back support panel 1 is formed with an opening 2 for communicating between the cabin and the trunk room and the upper end section is folded in step to form a fixing flange 1a. Said flange 1a is spot welded to the underface of parcel board 3. Consequently, a cross member 5 having box type closed cross-section is formed at the upper end section of rear seat back support panel 1 while extending laterally thus to improve the strength around the opening 2.
