機に交流電力を供給するサイリスタ装置と、この
サイリスタ装置の点弧位相角を制御する位相制御
装置と、前記アーク炉に発生するアークの長さを
予め設定するアーク長設定器と、前記アーク炉に
印加された交流電圧及びアーク炉に印加された交
流電圧及び前記アーク炉に流れる交流電流からア
ーク長を演算するアーク長検出器と、このアーク
長検出器からのアーク長信号を変換して前記位相
制御装置に前記電動機の速度基準値を出力する速
度基準演算回路とからなるアーク炉の電極制御装
置に於て、前記アーク長検出器からの出力信号に
よつてアークの安定度を検出するアーク長安定検
出回路と、このアーク長安定検出回路からの安定
信号によつて前記アーク長検出器及び前記速度基
準演算回路の間の導通を制御するスイツチング素
