In general, an automatic document feeder feeds the document on the document supply table using a paper feed roller, separates the document one by one using nine double-feed prevention rollers, and passes the document through two paper guides to the glass surface of the copying machine body and runs along this document. After being introduced between the sheet and the conveyor belt and exposed to light on the glass surface, the sheet is sent out to the sheet discharge tray through the discharge port by the movement of the II conveyor belt. Recent automatic document feeders handle small documents (for example, B5 size) and large documents (for example, A2 size) according to the performance of the copying machine.
Since it has become possible to supply originals of different sizes, it has become necessary to ensure that the paper ejection tray can also receive originals of different sizes. However, conventional paper ejection trays did not have a function that ensured that documents of all sizes could be reliably received, which was a major obstacle to improving the performance of automatic document feeders.

In addition, when an automatic document feeder processes a large number of documents through an output tray and an adjacent device such as a sorter, it requires a guide member that connects to the adjacent device. I couldn't expect such functionality at all.

It is introduced between the glass surface 9 of the copying machine main body 1 and the conveyor belt 10 running along the glass surface 9, and is supplied onto the glass surface 9. The document is stopped on this glass surface 9 for exposure. This stopping is performed by protrusion of a stopper 11 provided at the end of the glass surface 9. Upon or before the end of exposure, the stopper 11 retracts from the glass surface, the conveyor belt 10 restarts, and the original is transferred to the paper ejection roller 12a.

The paper receiving auxiliary member 16 in FIG. 2 is made by bending the filament a like a double pulse waveform, slightly extending the portion corresponding to the trough, and folding it at right angles to form an L-shaped part. At the same time, both ends are bent outward to form locking portions c and c. In the case of the paper receiving auxiliary member 16, as shown in the first figure, the paper receiving tray 13
used for. I! I] First, engage the locking parts c, c at both ends with a pair of locking holes 17, 17 provided on the inner surface of the edge frame 15 of the top 14a of the paper ejection tray 13, and eject the L-shaped part. paper plate 13
It is fitted into a recessed notch 18 provided in the center of the top portion 14a. In this state of use, the paper receiving surface 14 of the paper ejection tray 130 is extended, but when the paper receiving auxiliary member 16 is rotated 1180° about the locking portions C at both ends, the above-mentioned shape portion is extended. It rises from the paper receiving surface 14 and functions as a stopper to prevent the document from falling.4 The paper receiving auxiliary member 16 shown in FIG. A locking part c, which is folded and further folded with one end facing forward in the horizontal direction and the other end facing backward in the horizontal direction with the tip of the U-shaped part raised at a certain inclination angle;
c' is formed. In this case, when using the paper ejection tray 13, the locking portions c and c' at both ends are connected to the top 14 of the paper ejection tray 13.
They are engaged with a pair of locking holes 19° and 19 provided near the center of a, and the shapes of these locking portions c and c' are as shown in FIGS. 4 and 5 when they are locked in the locking holes 19. Maintain the angle of the U-shaped part as shown.

The paper receiving auxiliary member 16 in FIG. 6 is made by bending the filament a like the knee pulse waveform as in the case shown in the second figure, and folding the portion corresponding to the crest into a shape toward the side, and attaching it to the hook. A shaped portion d is formed, and two ends are bent outward to form locking portions c, c. In this case, when using the paper discharge tray 13, the locking portions c, c at both ends of the paper discharge tray 13 are engaged with a pair of locking holes 17, 17 provided on the inner surface of the edge frame 15 of the top portion 14a of the paper discharge tray 13. . This is the same as in the case of the paper receiving auxiliary member 16 shown in the second figure, but by providing the hook-shaped portion d, it has a function as a guide member for transferring documents to an adjacent device such as a sorter. Of course, it also has the function of extending the paper receiving surface 14 of the paper discharge tray 13.

Since the paper ejection tray is provided with two or more types of paper receiving auxiliary members having different functions and/or shapes that can be exchanged or displaced, the paper ejection tray can be used to accommodate all the different sizes of paper being ejected. It is possible to easily and accurately correspond to the manuscript. Therefore,
This greatly contributes to improving the performance of automatic document feeders, which can now transport documents from small documents to documents as large as A2 size.
