Abstract

PURPOSE:To lighten the burden imposed on an operator with respect to the weight of a camera and to improve the operability of a release button by mounting a monitor means for monitoring the output of an image pickup element on a lens barrel. CONSTITUTION:A shaft 11 for comprising a fitting part provided on a lens tube 5 is inserted with pressure into a hole (not shown in the figure) drilled at the bottom of an electronic view finer 10. A plug 12 is connected to said finder 10 through a cord 13 and inserted into a socket 14 provided on the lens barrel. The socket 14 is connected to the camera main body 1 through a connecting cord 8a. Moreover, a shaft 15 used for fitting the view finder and a socket 16 where a plug 12 is inserted are provided on the camera main body 1. Thus only the lens tube 5 is held with hands while, for instance, the camera main body 1 is placed on the ground. Then while the lens tube 5 is freely moved, the setting of a composition and focusing can be carried out quickly at hand.
