Abstract

PURPOSE:To allow the user of a terminating telephone terminal device to identify a calling subscriber without looking up a telephone directory at every time by displaying information which is identified by a call originating telephone terminal device on a number and character display means. CONSTITUTION:The call originating telephone terminal device sends a character code oc indicating the originating subscriber to a telephone switching network 6 together with a subscriber information part behind the control information part of a calling signal, and the switching network 6 selects the terminating telephone terminal device and sends a signal to a subscriber line 4. This control and subscriber information is received by a signal control part 7' through a subscriber interface part 3, and a subscriber information identification part 71 identifies the character string oc in the subscriber information part.
