Abstract

PURPOSE:To surely open and close a discharge port and prevent a reverse flow of dust, by providing a valve, integrally formed with a bellows extending and contracting by the pressure of air, in the dust collecting part of a cyclone type air cleaner and actuating the valve interlocking to an internal-combustion engine operating and stopping. CONSTITUTION:If an internal-combustion engine is driven in operation by connecting an outlet 4 with an intake port of the engine, an air cleaner, sucking air from an inlet 3 into a casing 2, separates coarse dust by turning it by a guide blade 9. And the coarse dust is collected and confined in a dust collecting chamber 13 because a hole part 13c of the dust collecting chamber 13 is closed by a valve part 14d by contracting a bellows part 14c in a valve 14 due to the negative pressure in a vacuum tank caused by starting the engine. While the air cleaner, if the engine is stopped, discharges the dust by its dead weight to the outside by the valve part 14d opening the hole part 13c of the dust collecting chamber 13 because the atmospheric pressure is introduced into the bellows part 14c.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION [Field of Industrial Application] The present invention relates to an automatic dust discharge valve for discharging dust and water accumulated in a casing of a cyclone air cleaner to the outside.

Conventionally, there is a device of this type described in Japanese Utility Model Publication No. 18660/1983. This uses the intake negative pressure when the engine is running to open and close the valves using a negative pressure motor.
This discharged dust or water to the outside.

However, in the conventional type, the opening and closing of the valve tends to be incomplete due to intake pulsation of the engine, and outside air may flow back into the casing from the exhaust port, impairing the filtration performance of the filtration element.

In addition to having the above problems, the negative pressure motor itself is expensive, so in actual use as an air cleaner, it is not possible to use it as an air cleaner. It also has the disadvantage that it will no longer be discharged,
The one described in Japanese Utility Model Publication No. 57-7111 was mainly used.

Therefore, the present invention aims to provide a valve that is not affected by the intake pulsation of the engine, which not only reliably discharges dust, but also is cheaper than the method of opening and closing the valve using a negative pressure motor.

In FIG. 1, numeral 1 indicates a cyclone air cleaner for an internal combustion engine. An inlet 3 is attached to the cylindrical casing 2, and the inlet left 3 opens into the casing 2. Outlet 4 is located in the center of the upper wall of casing 2.
is installed and opened. This casing 2 is provided with a U-shaped support 5 which is fixed inside the outlet 4, and a cap 12, while the filter body 8 is sealed with a gasket 10.11 together with a guide vane 9 with a clamp 7 via a gasket 6. It is also attached. On the side wall of the casing 2, a bellows-integrated valve 14 integrally formed of an elastic material is attached to the temporary dust accumulation chamber 13, as shown in Fig. 2, which is operated by negative pressure, and is activated by turning the key switch ON/OFF. ,
It communicates with a vacuum tank via a vacuum switching pulp (VSV) that stops, and is set to open and close based on engine intake negative pressure in this tank.

When the outlet 4 is connected to the intake port of an internal combustion engine and the engine is operated, the air supplied to the internal combustion engine is sucked into the casing 2 through the inlet 3 and is forced into a swirling flow by the guide vanes 9. The dust is separated by the centrifugal force, descends along the mounting surface of the casing 2, and accumulates in the dust accumulation chamber 13. The accumulated dust is released when the internal combustion engine is started, that is, when the key switch is turned on.
is activated and the valve 14 is opened due to negative pressure in the vacuum tank.
The bellows part 14c contracts, and the valve part 14 as shown in FIG.
d reliably closes the hole 13c of the dust accumulation chamber 13 without being affected by the intake pulsation of the internal combustion engine, so it is not discharged to the outside, but when the internal combustion engine is stopped, that is, when the key switch O
VSV closes together with FF, and the negative pressure inside the vacuum tank disappears.

As a result, atmospheric pressure is introduced into the bellows portion 14c of the valve 14, so that the valve portion 14d opens the hole 13c of the dust accumulation chamber 13 as shown in FIG. 2, and the dust is discharged to the outside by its own weight.

In the embodiment described above, the valve 14 is attached to the side wall of the casing 2, but the valve 14 is also attached to the bottom of the dust pan 16.
A similar effect can be obtained by making the shape as shown in FIG.

In addition, although the valve 14 was opened and closed by starting and stopping the internal combustion engine, that is, by turning the key switch ON and OFF, the valve 14 was replaced by a vacuum switching valve (VS
If a controller is provided which is activated by a signal from a rotation sensor attached to the engine via V), and the valve 14 is opened even when the engine starts with a small amount of intake air, dust will be kicked up by the wind speed of the intake air. Furthermore, since this is the time when the vibration of the internal combustion engine is the greatest, dust can be more easily discharged to the outside due to vibration than in the first embodiment.

In addition, although all of the above embodiments were operated using negative pressure in the vacuum tank, for engines equipped with compressors such as those used in large trucks, the operation of the valve 14 may be reversed and the operation may be performed using positive pressure. You can expect great effects.

Further, in the above embodiment, the bellows portion 14 of the valve 14
Although the structure was such that the bellows part 14C and the valve part 14d were integrated, the same effect can be expected even if the bellows part 14C and the valve part 14d are bonded as separate parts as shown in FIG.
