Conventionally, when a milling cutter 1 is used to cut a flat or arcuate concave machined surface 3 to a depth l 2 that is longer than the blade length l 1 of the blade part 2 as shown in FIG. In many cases, the chips were not discharged while being stuck between the machined surface 3 and the arbor or the neck 4, and were entangled with each other to form lumps and accumulate between the machined surface 3 and the arbor or the neck 4. As a result, the chips push up the arbor or neck 4, resulting in poor machining accuracy and undulations on the machined surface 3. Especially when it comes to unmanned driving at night etc.
If the machining operation was continued with the chips accumulated in this way, there was a risk that the milling cutter 1 would break.

The present invention was devised in view of the above circumstances, and its purpose is to provide a milling tool in which chips do not accumulate between the machining surface and the arbor or neck by simple structural improvements.

The present invention will be described below with reference to the drawings. FIG. 2 is a side view of a milling cutter 5 as an example of a milling tool according to the present invention, and FIG. 3 is a cross-sectional view taken from FIG. Therefore, on the outer circumferential surface 6a of the neck portion 6 of the milling cutter 5, a protrusion 8 serving as a chip disposal plate twisted in the same direction as the twisting of the blade portion 7 is fixedly provided over almost the entire length of the neck portion 6. The height of the protrusion 8 is higher than the outer peripheral surface 6a of the neck portion 6 and lower than the extension surface of the imaginary circle 7a connecting the cutting edges of the blade portion 7.

Next, the function of the milling cutter 5 will be explained.
When the milling cutter 5 mills the plane surface 9, the chips generated at the blade part 7 are pushed out toward the neck part 6, and the chips form the protrusions 8 as shown in FIGS. 4 and 5. The circumferential direction of the neck 6 (arrow A)
Alternatively, since the chips are forcibly moved backward in the longitudinal direction of the neck portion 6 (arrow B), the chips hardly remain between the neck portion 6 and the machining surface 9. Also neck 6
The chips accumulated between the machining surface 9 and the machining surface 9 are prevented from intertwining with each other and forming a lump shape by the protrusions 8, and are discharged as shown by arrows A and B. Therefore, chips do not push up the neck 6.

As is clear from the above explanation, since the milling tool according to the present invention has a twisted protrusion of a predetermined height on the neck, there is a risk that chips may accumulate between the neck and the machined surface and push up the neck. There is no. Therefore, waviness does not occur on the machined surface, machining accuracy is improved, and even during unmanned operation, stable cutting conditions can be ensured without the risk of cutting accidents.
