Abstract

PURPOSE:To attain ease of fault analysis by checking a sequence number added into information, detecting it at an error detection means at occurrence of a fault at the transmission side and informing it to a terminal device at the transmission/reception side. CONSTITUTION:When a field constitution of a sequence number in information and a revision condition are inputted from a keyboard 7 to a main control section CC3, it is informed to a monitor unit MU1 and an error detection unit EDU2 respectively to start a monitor. The MU1 transmits the monitored information to the CC3, and transfers only the sequence number to the EDU2. The CC3 outputs the information from the MU1 to an input/output section 6. The EDU2 checks the renewal state of the sequence number received from the MU1 and if there is any error, the level of an error detection line 5 is changed and informed to the transmission side terminal device.

For example, ×25 level 2 data transmitted over a line between a terminal and an exchange is structured as shown in FIG. 3(a). This is called low-level data, and in FIG. 3(a), "F" is a flag, 'A' is an address, "C" is a control, "■" is information, and 6FC8 is a frame gate sequence (e.g. Parichi). ゛ [Prior Art] In order to detect the occurrence of a failure in data in the format shown in Figure 3, the conventional methods were to visually check for sequence errors in the information on the monitor screen, or to display sequence errors on the monitor screen. In either case, it was not possible to reproduce the behavior when a failure occurred on the transmitting side, and the investigation of the cause of the failure could only be done theoretically.

In FIG. 1, the main control unit (cc) 3 inputs the field configuration and update conditions of the sequence number SHQ in the information (see FIG. 3(b)) from the keyboard 7, and then controls the monitor unit (MU) 1 and error detection unit) (
f! DU) Notify 2 and start the monitor. The monitor unit 1 sends the monitored information to the main mm section 3 and also transfers only the sequence number SBQ to the error detection unit 2. The main control section 3 outputs information from the monitor unit 1 to the display section 8'. On the other hand, the error detection unit 2 updates the sequence number received from the monitor unit.
If there is an error, the level of the error detection line 5 is changed and the sending terminal is notified.
