Generally, if the strip is left as it is after being rolled, quality defects due to cracks or dimensional variations will remain on both end faces (both ears) of the strip, or camber will occur in the longitudinal direction of the strip. I do things. Therefore, a process of cutting both ears of the strip is necessary to achieve the desired product size or quality, but since the strip is flowing continuously, the scraps of the sheared ears are also continuous or intermittent. This can cause problems and make post-processing difficult.
It is necessary to further shred (cut into small pieces).

Conventionally, as shown in Fig. 1, a method for shredding scrap is to install a scrap chopper b at a certain distance downstream of a rotary side trimmer a, and to connect the scrap chopper b and side trimmer a. A method was adopted in which a guide member c was disposed between the two ends of the strip d, and after shearing both ears of the strip d, the scrap e was cut into small pieces with a chopper b. However, in this method, the distance between shearing both ears and cutting the scrap e is long (a certain distance must necessarily be left due to the mechanical structure), so the scrap e is twisted when sheared. e is not guided properly to the tipper b and gets stuck inside the guide member c. Furthermore, even if the scrap e reaches the tipper b without getting stuck, if the scrap e is twisted 90 degrees and enters vertically, it will not get caught in the blade of the tipper b and will become impossible to cut. Therefore, when the above-mentioned phenomenon occurred, the entire line stopped, causing production to be inhibited.

そこで、従来上記対策として第2図に示す如

Therefore, as a conventional measure against the above, as shown in Fig. 2, a chopper b is installed coaxially with the side trimmer a, that is, a chopper end plate b 1 is installed inside the axis f 1 of the trimmer upper cutter a 1 , and a cutter b 1 is installed inside the axis f 1 of the trimmer upper cutter a 1. A method was also developed in which chopper lower cutters b and 2 were placed side by side inside the axis f and 2 of 2 to simultaneously shear the ears of the strip d and shred the scrap e, thereby eliminating the grip of the scrap e. . However, in such a system, since the upper and lower cutters of the side trimmer a and the cutter b are provided on the same axis, the gaps x and 1 between the upper and lower cutters a 1 and a 2 of the side trimmer a are
Or, if the top gap y is made appropriate, the gaps x and 1 or the top gap y' between the upper and lower cutters b 1 and b 2 as the cutter b will become inappropriate (see Figure 3), and both should be made appropriate at the same time. This may damage the blades b 1 and b 2 or make it impossible to cut the scrap e. In addition, since edge shearing and scrap shredding are performed at the same time, cutter flaws g from the chopper lower cutter b2 remain on both end faces of the sheared strip d, which may affect product quality or interfere with post-process processing. There were problems such as causing

Therefore, in order to solve this problem, recently,
A method has been proposed in which a notch is made at the end of the strip width before trimming, or a notch is made at the same time as trimming to facilitate scrap processing. You will need equipment to do so.

The present invention was developed in view of this point of view, and in order to pull the scrap which has been notched at a required interval in the scrap feeding direction at the tip end in the scrap feeding direction and divide it at the notch at the tip end in the scrap feeding direction, the upper pinch roll is used. The present invention is characterized by the provision of different speed pinch rolls in which the circumferential speeds of the rolls and the lower pinch rolls are different.

A guide 5 for guiding the scrap generated by the shearing of both ends of the strip P is disposed downstream of the strip P, and a scrap separation device 6 is disposed downstream of the guide 5. The scrap separating device 6 is comprised of a lower roll 7 and an upper pinch roll 9 which can be moved up and down by a fluid pressure cylinder 8, and the peripheral speeds of the upper and lower pinch rolls 9 and 7 are different. Further, the upper pinch roll 9 may be provided with protrusions on its circumference so that it can easily pinch the scraps S.

The scrap S, which has been sheared and notched N, is sent from the guide 5 to the scrap separation device 6,
Let the circumferential speeds of the upper and lower pinch rolls 9 and 7 be V 1 and V 2 , and V 2 > V 1 and V 2 = V 1 + ΔV (ΔV is the difference in circumferential speed between the upper and lower pinch rolls 9 and 7). shall be. or,
It is assumed that a rolling force P1 is applied to the scrap S by the upper and lower pinch rolls 9 and 7. (See Figure 7).

When the notch N of the scrap S comes between the upper and lower pinch rolls 9 and 7 and the scrap S in front of the notch N is pinched between the upper and lower pinch rolls 9 and 7, the lower pinch roll 7 Since the circumferential speed V 2 is higher than the circumferential speed V 1 of the upper pinch roll 9, as shown in FIG. = pulled by the force of KΔV, notch N
expands. Here, K is the rolling force P 1 and the scrap S
is a constant determined by the friction coefficients of the upper and lower pinch rolls 9 and 7.

In addition, the scrap S in front of the notch N is
The force acting on the center of rotation of the lower pinch roll 7 is P 1 θ, and the force acting on the scrap S and the lower pinch roll 7 is P 1 θ.
The frictional force acting between the scrap S and the lower pinch roll 7 is P 1 θμ
P 1 ′θ, which is a combination of P 1 θ and P 1 θμ, acts on the top of the notch N, generating a moment M, and the portion of the scrap S in front of the notch N is pulled by the moment M, and the notch N expands.

As mentioned above, a force is applied to the scrap S in the area sandwiched between the upper and lower pinch rolls 9 and 7 due to the circumferential speed difference and moment to enlarge the notch N, and the downstream side of the notch N is The scrap S is pulled and divided. Scrap S notch N
The connected portion at the top is easily broken due to advanced work hardening, and by pulling with the upper and lower pinch rolls 9 and 7, the most advanced scrap S is easily separated. The divided scrap S slides down the scrap chute 10 and is conveyed out of the line from the scrap conveyor 11.
