A conventional wire dot printer head has a through hole 1a in a wire holding portion 1 as shown in FIGS. 1 and 2.
A plurality of wires 2 are slidably inserted in a straight line, an ink absorber housing recess 1b is formed on both sides of the wire 2, an ink absorber 3 is stored in the ink absorber housing recess 1b, and the ink absorber 3 is inserted into the ink absorber housing recess 1b. Wire 2 is always attached to the outer surface.
It was configured to be in contact with the Therefore, since the wire 2 contacts and slides on the ink storage body 3, there is a large frictional resistance, and a large driving force is required, and the plunger 6 that drives the wire generates a large amount of heat, resulting in an overheating state, which makes it difficult to withstand long-term use. Due to the high-speed drive of the wire and the wear of the wire sliding surface of the ink absorber, part of the ink absorber adheres to the printing paper 5 as dust when the wire slides, resulting in a decrease in print quality and making it unsuitable for high-speed printing. There was a problem with this. For this reason, it is necessary to increase the size of the power supply unit, plunger 6, etc., which goes against the desire of users to downsize the device, and also causes high costs.
Furthermore, it has the disadvantage of requiring frequent replacement of the ink absorber.

The present invention aims to solve the above-mentioned problems and provides a head for a wire dot printer in which a plurality of wires are slidably inserted in a straight line through a wire holding part, and ink storage bodies are arranged on both sides of the wires. The feature is that rollers (rolling elements) are arranged between both sides of the ink storage body and the wire in a direction perpendicular to the wire to prevent direct contact between the wire and the ink storage body. .

FIG. 3 is a partially cutaway perspective view of the head, in which a plurality of wires 2 are linearly and slidably inserted into the through holes 1a of the wire holding portion 1, and ink storage body storage recesses 1b are provided on both sides of the wires 2. A roller (rolling element) 8 is interposed between the ink storage body 3 formed and housed therein and each wire 2.

A pair of rollers 8 facing each other with the wire 2 sandwiched therebetween can be inserted in common. The roller fitting holes 12 may be provided independently. Note that a bearing such as a bearing may be used to support the rollers 8.

Next, the effect will be explained. When the wire 2 is slid back and forth by the plunger 6, the through hole 1a of the wire is always filled with ink due to capillary action from the ink absorber, so ink adheres to the tip of the wire 2 and the wire is When moving forward, dot characters are printed on the printing paper 5 on the platen 4. Ink is transferred from ink tank 7 to ink pipe 9
Since the ink is constantly replenished via the ink, there is no shortage of ink.

As explained above, according to the present invention, in a head for a wire dot printer, in which a plurality of wires are slidably inserted in a straight line through a wire holding part, and ink storage bodies are arranged on both sides of the wires, Rollers (rolling elements) are arranged between the ink storage body and the wire in a direction perpendicular to the wire to prevent direct contact between the wire and the ink storage body, so the contact area is extremely small and frictional resistance during sliding is reduced. This allows for high-speed printing, reduces the power consumption of the plunger, and allows for smaller heads and smaller power supplies. Furthermore, even when the ink is not in use, the area where the wire is stuck due to ink drying is small, so accidents such as breakage due to wire sticking can be prevented.
