Abstract

PURPOSE:To detect easily the presence or absence of leakage at a low cost by forcing gaseous CO2 or gaseous N2 into a reactor and coating soap water on the surface. CONSTITUTION:This device are constituted of a denitration reactor 1, the blind plates 2, 2', a gaseous CO2 cylinder 3, a stop valve 4 for sealing gas, a gas conduit 5, a gas introducing mouthpiece 6, a gas detecting mouthpiece 6' and a U pipe 7. The conduit 5 drawn from the cylinder 3 is connected to the reactor 1 and the mouthpiece 6 of the plate 2 and is fastened by means of a metallic wire so that the gas can be sealed therein. The U pipe 7 made of, for example, a vinyl hose, etc. is attached to the mouthpiece 6' and is connected to the plate 2 or 2' so that the inside pressure sealed in the reactor 1 can be checked. The valve 4 of the cylinder 3 is then opened or closed to increase the inside pressure of the reactor 1. The soap water is sprinkled on the outside of the reactor 1 and the presence or absence of the bubbling thereof is observed, by which the presence or absence of leakage of the gas from the reactor 1 is checked.
