Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce the frequency of replacing seal fin and the cost therefore by implanting a seal fin, for prevention of leak of steam, in the intended part aslant thereto, and thereby providing possibility of correcting the worn tip of seal fin through folding of this part in the vertical direction. CONSTITUTION:A seal fin 1 for prevention of leak of steam is implanted aslant in the implanting part 3 with the aid of a caulking piece 2. This can prolong the overall length of the seal fin 1. When the tip of this seal fin 1 has worn, it is folded in the vertical direction by an amount r corresponding to the wear so as to maintain the optimum dimension. This reduces necessary frequency to replace the seal fin 1 as well as suppresses the material cost for seal fins 1.

The seal fin 1 wears out in contact with the rotating part (or stationary part) during operation, especially in a transient state up to a steady operating state at startup, and the gap between the stationary part and the rotating part widens, resulting in a decrease in performance.

A portion of the total steam flow that has entered the steam turbine leaks without doing any work through the gap between the rotating part and the stationary part (see both R and S in FIG. 3). The seal fin 1 prevents this leakage, and in the present invention, it is implanted diagonally with respect to the implantation part 3. As time and day 2 pass, the seal fin 1 experiences a wear amount W at its tip.

In the present invention, by implanting the seal fin 1 diagonally, the overall length can be increased for the same gap as in the prior art. Therefore, even if the seal fin 1 is worn out, the seal fin 1 can be replaced by simply bending it in the vertical direction as shown in Figure 2 and maintaining the optimum gap by adjusting the gap i+tr. There will be no need to do so.
