Conventionally, in intraoral photography of teeth, an X-ray film alone or an X-ray film and a metal foil such as lead foil for cutting back scattered radiation is sandwiched between thin sheets of light-shielding paper, and this is sandwiched between sheets of, for example, vinyl chloride. A film pack is used, which is loaded into a bag-shaped holder made of a flexible light-shielding material such as, and then the holder is sealed. When taking pictures, insert this film pack into the mouth (behind the teeth) (when loading metal foil, insert it with care so that the metal foil is placed on the opposite side of the X-ray film from the radiation source), X-rays are irradiated from the front of the tooth while holding the film pack in your hand. After shooting in this way,
The pack is opened and the X-ray film is taken out and developed.

However, the film packs used in conventional intraoral X-ray photography have low sensitivity to X-rays because they directly expose the X-ray film to X-rays, and therefore the exposure dose is high when taking images. However, as a result, the patient's radiation dose increases.

In view of these drawbacks, film packs have been proposed in which a sensitizing sheet having a phosphor layer is enclosed in a holder together with an X-ray film or an X-ray film and metal foil in order to increase the sensitivity to X-rays. . For example, Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. 52-60588 discloses a film pack in which a sensitizing sheet having a phosphor layer is closely attached (adhered) to an X-ray film and sealed inside a holder. However, in the case of a film pack in which the X-ray film and the intensifying sheet are placed in close contact with each other and sealed in a holder, although the sensitivity to X-rays is high, the pack is opened in a dark room after X-ray photography is completed. However, the X-ray film must be peeled off from the sensitizing sheet and only the X-ray film must be fed into the developing machine, making the operations from photographing to developing the X-ray film complicated. Even if the X-ray film and the intensifying sheet are not in close contact with each other, after opening the photographed film pack in a dark room, separate the X-ray film and the intensifying sheet and take out only the X-ray film. It must be put into the developing machine. A film pack in which a sensitizing sheet is enclosed in a holder together with an X-ray film has the disadvantage that operations from photographing to developing the X-ray film are complicated.

According to the film pack of the present invention, a sensitizing layer made of an X-ray phosphor dispersed in a binder is fixedly provided on one of the opposing inner surfaces of a holder in which an X-ray film is enclosed. Therefore, the sensitivity is 10 to 20 times higher than that of conventional film packs in which only the X-ray film is enclosed in the holder. Moreover, when opening the film pack that has already been photographed, only the X-ray film needs to be taken out. Compared to a film pack in which a sensitizing sheet is enclosed in a holder together with an X-ray film, it is easier to operate in a darkroom.

In addition, since the film pack of the present invention has a sensitizing layer fixed on one side of the opposing inner surfaces of the bag-like holder and a water-soluble resin fixed on the other side, fogging is reduced when left for a long time. When developing by injecting a developer, there is an effect of accelerating the development speed.

FIG. 1 is a front view of an embodiment of the film pack of the present invention, and FIG. 2 is a cross-sectional view taken along line A--A' in FIG. Reference numeral 1 denotes a bag-shaped holder in which an X-ray film 3 is enclosed, and this holder 1 is made of a flexible light-shielding material such as a vinyl chloride sheet. In order to achieve more complete light blocking,
It is effective to color the holder 1 black on the inside and white on the outside. For example, a black vinyl chloride sheet and a white vinyl chloride sheet are heat laminated so that the black vinyl chloride becomes the inner surface of the holder 1. It is more preferable to Holder 1
is the rear surface of the holder on which a metal foil 4 such as lead foil for cutting back scattered radiation and a sensitizing layer 2 made of an X-ray phosphor dispersed in a binder are fixed in this order. Member 1a (placed on the side far from the X-ray source during imaging) and holder rear member 1a
and a holder front member 1b (disposed on the side closer to the X-ray source at the time of imaging), which is made of the same material and has the same shape. The peripheries of the holder rear member 1a and the holder front member 1b are fused together with the X-ray film 3 sandwiched therebetween, and the holder 1

To manufacture the film pack of the present invention, the cross-sectional view of which is shown in FIG. After pasting the metal foil 4, a phosphor coating liquid in which an X-ray phosphor is dispersed in a binder is applied thereon and dried to form a sensitizing layer 2. For example, in the case of a film pack that stores an X-ray film 3 with a size of 30 mm x 40 mm, if the metal foil 4 and the X-ray film 3 are overlapped,
A rectangular metal foil 4 having a size of at least 32 mm x 42 mm may be attached to one side of the holder rear member 1a so that the metal foil appears about 1 to 1.5 mm from the periphery of the wire film 3. The metal foil 4 is provided to prevent the sharpness of the X-ray photograph from decreasing when backscattered radiation generated during imaging enters the X-ray film 3, and is essential to the film pack of the present invention. It is not necessary and may not be provided in some cases. Furthermore, instead of providing the metal foil 4, a sheet impregnated with an X-ray absorbing substance such as lead oxide (PbO) is used as the holder rear member 1a, and the sensitizing layer 2 is formed on one side thereof in the same manner as above. It's okay.

It is preferable to use particles with a small particle size of μ or less.
On the other hand, as a binder, resins commonly used as binders for radiation intensifying screens, such as nitrified cotton, vinyl chloride-vinyl acetate copolymer, and polyvinyl butyral, may be used. It is more preferable to use water-soluble resins that are not commonly used, such as polyvinyl alcohol, hydroxypropylcellulose, gelatin, methylcellulose, ethylcellulose, and polyvinylpyrrolidone.
The reason for this is not clear, but generally speaking, when a water-soluble resin is used as a binder,
This is because there is less fogging on the X-ray film 3 when the film pack containing the X-ray film 3 is left for a long period of time.

A phosphor coating liquid prepared by thoroughly mixing the X-ray phosphor and a binder in a pole mill is applied onto the metal foil 4 of the holder rear member 1a to which the metal foil 4 has been attached in advance. The sensitized layer 2 is formed by coating the entire surface by silk screen printing or the like and drying it. Generally, an appropriate amount of a suitable solvent is added to the phosphor coating liquid to adjust its viscosity. If the metal foil 4 is not provided, the enclosed X-ray film 3
The sensitizing layer 2 is formed by directly coating one side of the holder rear member 1a with a phosphor coating liquid in a rectangular shape slightly wider than the film 3 in accordance with the size and shape of the film 3. As the coating weight increases until the coating weight after drying of the sensitizing layer 2 reaches approximately 35mg/cm 2 , the sensitivity of the resulting film pack to X-rays increases; however, when the coating weight is increased to 35mg/cm 2 or more However, sensitivity to X-rays hardly increases. Therefore, the sensitizing layer 2 is
It may be formed with a coating weight of up to 35 mg/cm 2 . The holder front member 1b is made of the same material as the holder rear member 1b. However, unlike the holder rear member 1a, it is not preferable that the holder front member 1b has high X-ray absorption. Therefore, as mentioned above, when the metal foil 4 is not used and instead a material with high X-ray absorption including an X-ray absorbing substance such as PbO is used as the holder rear member 1a, the holder As the front member 1b, a material different from that of the holder rear member 1a and having relatively low X-ray absorption is used. One surface of the holder front member 1b is coated with the water-soluble resin described above, which is preferably used as a binder for the sensitized layer, in a film thickness of several tens of microns, and dried. A synthetic resin layer is formed.

When performing X-ray photography, the holder is inserted into the mouth (behind the teeth) with the front member 1b of the holder facing toward the radiation source, and the film pack is supported with the hand to take the image, as in the case of conventional film packs. After photographing, the lid 6 of the film pack is strongly pulled in the front-back direction to tear a part of the film pack, and the X-ray film 3 is taken out and developed. The holder 1 having the sensitizing layer on its inner surface is discarded. FIG. 3 shows a side view of the film pack shown in FIG. 1 when the lid 6 is torn open. Providing a water-soluble resin layer on one of the opposing inner surfaces of the holder 1 in this manner is preferable because fogging of the X-ray film is reduced when the film pack is left for a long period of time. Alternatively, without opening the photographed film pack, a developer is injected into the film pack using a syringe or the like, and the film pack is rubbed with hands from the outside to diffuse the developer into the film pack, thereby allowing the film to be developed. A method in which the exposed X-ray film is developed within the film pack by sufficiently contacting the liquid with the X-ray film is also widely used. When a water-soluble resin is used as a binder for the sensitized layer, these water-soluble resins that are in direct contact with the X-ray film quickly absorb the injected developer and easily wet the injected developer. The developer comes into uniform contact with the X-ray film, and the development speed is accelerated.

The film pack of the present invention has a sensitizing layer formed by dispersing an X-ray phosphor in a binder on one of the opposing inner surfaces of a bag-shaped holder, and the holder itself has a sensitizing function. As a result, the sensitivity to X-rays is improved by approximately 10 to 20 times compared to conventional film packs that do not contain a sensitizing sheet, and therefore the radiation dose to the examinee (patient) can be significantly reduced. can. In addition, the film pack of the present invention allows only the X-ray film to come out when the film pack is opened, so compared to a film pack in which a sensitizing sheet is enclosed, the work from taking out the photographed film to developing it is easier. It can be easily performed even in a dark room. Furthermore, the film pack of the present invention can be produced by using a water-soluble resin as a binder for the sensitized layer, or by providing a water-soluble resin layer on the opposite inner surface of the holder where the sensitized layer is not provided. It has advantages such as being able to reduce fogging of X-ray film when the film pack is left for a long period of time, and has great industrial utility value.
