Incidentally, the optical signal transmission device includes a device for generating and supplying light, a device for optical-to-electrical conversion of an optical signal, an operation switch device for generating an optical signal, a light guide path, and the like. In such an optical signal transmission device, for example, an operation switch device is disposed on a fixed pad located in the center of the steering wheel, and a device that generates light or converts an optical signal into electricity is installed. Some are configured by being placed on the vehicle body side.
'In this type of optical signal transmission device, the steering wheel's spot 7 is interposed in the optical transmitting/receiving section, which consists of the light guide end at the top end of the steering column and the light guide end in the opposing pad. This may cause a problem in that the spoke portion becomes a light shield that blocks the optical path.
