Abstract

PURPOSE:To prepare a grindstone having a desired shape precision easily and with high efficiency by preparing a base mold having the same shape to the polished part of a polished article such as metallic mold and coating the base mold with polishing abrasive grains and molding the grindstone by using the coated part. CONSTITUTION:The base mold 5 for shaping grindstone is prepared by using an NC tape used in the preparation of metallic mold, and diamond abrasive grains are electrically deposited onto the surface 8 including the groove part 6 and the projection part 7 of the base mold 5. Then, a rod-shaped grindstone for polishing-working the metallic mold is pressed onto the groove part 6 or the projection part 7 of the base mold 5 applied with the diamond abrasive grains 9, and the grindstones is moved repeatedly in slidable ways in the direction of arrow 10, and the grindstone is molded into the shape faithfully corresponding to the shape of the groove part 6 or the projection part 7 by using diamond abrasive grains 9.

In general, molds for injection molding are mainly manufactured by cutting using numerically controlled machine tools. In this case, the desired precision of the mold is obtained by cutting the inner surface of the mold by polishing after cutting. This polishing work is usually done by hand because mold manufacturing involves high-mix, low-volume production. Therefore, the mold polishing work.

By the way, in this polishing apparatus, a grindstone for polishing is used as a processing tool. This whetstone is not uniform in shape (unlike whetstones used in grinders, etc.) and is mostly manufactured by hand. Therefore, when shaping a whetstone, should it be shaped by sliding it against a whetstone that is harder than a polishing whetstone?

It is assumed that the formed whetstone will conform to the shape of the mold during actual work. Therefore, depending on the conventional grindstone pressure, there is a limit to the shape accuracy of the mold, making it difficult to obtain high shape precision.

FIG. 6 shows a mold (1) that is polished by the grindstone manufactured in this example. This mold (1) is formed with a groove (2) whose bottom cross section is arcuate and a protrusion (3), and the upper corner of the protrusion (3) is rounded (4).
is attached. The mold (1) having such a complicated shape is manufactured using a numerically controlled (NC) machine tool. Therefore, a mold (5) identical to the mold (1) is made of a relatively soft material such as mild steel, as shown in FIG. 1, using the NC tape used in manufacturing the mold. Diamond abrasive grains (9) are then embedded in nickel or chromium by electrodeposition on the surface (8) of the mold (5), including the grooves (6) and protrusions (7). At this time, the polishing clearance is adjusted depending on the particle size of the diamond abrasive grains (9). In other words, when increasing the clearance (C), increase the particle size of the diamond abrasive grains (9) as shown in Figure 2, and increase the clearance (C).
In order to make the diamond abrasive grains (9) small, the particle size of the diamond abrasive grains (9) is made small, as shown in FIG. In this way, the diamond abrasive grains (9) are applied to the surface (8) of the single mold (5)...
When the electrodeposition of ・ is completed, a rod-shaped grindstone is pushed into the groove (6) or protrusion (7) of the mold (5) on which the diamond abrasive grains (9) are deposited, and a special The device repeatedly slides in the direction of arrow α0. As a result, the grindstone is formed into a groove (6) or a protrusion (a shape that faithfully corresponds to the shape of the force) by the diamond abrasive grains (9)...
It is possible to obtain the grindstones (11) (1B) shown in the figure and FIG. 5. These grindstones U and aa have diamond abrasive grains dispersed and held by a resinoid binder. The grindstone αυ is used to polish the groove (2) of the mold (1), and the grindstone α is used to polish the protrusion (3) of the mold (1).

In this example, a mold (5) for forming a whetstone is manufactured using NC tape used for mold manufacturing, and diamond abrasive grains (9) are placed on this mold (5). After coating the diamond abrasive grains (9), the bar-shaped whetstone is pressed against the diamond abrasive grains (9) and slid in a certain direction to form the whetstone, so no skill is required to create a whetstone with high shape accuracy. can be manufactured with high efficiency. As a result, the shape accuracy of the mold polished using this grindstone also increases. moreover,
Diamond abrasive grains (9) also improve the clearance of the whetstone.
Strict control of the particle size further contributes to improved shape accuracy.
