Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent generation of a chip or crack of a magnetic core by installing, on the outer surface of the magnetic core, a member which is made of a nonmagnetic material and separates a coil from the magnetic recording medium sliding surface of the magnetic core. CONSTITUTION:Conventional coil grooves 2 and 2 are not formed on end surfaces at both outer sides facing the collating surfaces of core half bodies 11 and 12. Instead of them, projecting parts 9 and 9 made of the nonmagnetic material are additionally installed on the upper ends at the side of the sliding surface of the end surface by jointing them with an adhesive. In this case the sections of the projecting parts 9 and 9 are formed approximately in an arc shape. By the projecting parts 9 and 9 a coil 7 is wound in an area at the lower side on the outer surface of the magnetic core through a coil window 3, and the projecting parts 9 and 9 prevents the coil 7 from becoming loose and shifting to the side of the sliding surface 4. Accordingly the coil 7 is separated from the sliding surface 4. Thus the crack of the magnetic core can be prevented, and the titled head can be manufactured at a moderate price due to the simple structure and simple steps.
