Abstract

PURPOSE:To make a titled head available as a part of the recording medium travel path to realize the device of simple construction and small-size, by setting a guide body having a curvature on the surface of a base, on which the heating element substrate is mounted, so as to be parallel to the heating element row and have a raised portion from a heating element surface level. CONSTITUTION:A guide body 15 is a round bar having a circular cross section of the curvature R and securely bonded in a concave groove 12a formed on a base 12 by use of an adhesive 18 so as to have the top which is higher than the surface of a heating element substrate 11 on which heating elements are formed by a projection (h) and parallel to the heating element row. This construction enables a desired recording to be conducted on an image receiving paper 19b by a procedure wherein a roller 20 are rotated in the direction of the arrow while heating elements 11a are selectively heated according to an image signal to feed the image receiving paper 19b and a transfer sheet 19a respectively in the direction of the arrows. At this time, the transfer sheet 19a is guided to the guide body 15. Accordingly, the thermal recording head can be utilized as a part of the recording medium travel path, enabling to reallize the device of simple construction and small-size.

発明が解決しようとする問題点 このような従来の感熱記録ヘッドでは、記録媒体の案内
の一部のために記録媒体の走行経路を構成することはで
きなかった。従って従来の感熱記録ヘッドを用いた場合
に装@設計上制約を与えることになり、装置が複雑とな
ったり、装置が大型化するという問題点を有していた。

夫々形成されている。共通電極11cは発熱体11aと
の接続部付近では分離しており、その後で一体化され、
両サイドよりリード線11dにより配設用プリント板1
4に接続されている。個別電極11bは夫々分離してお
り、一端が発熱体11aに、他端が発熱体駆動用半導体
素子13に接続されている。発熱体駆動用半導体素子1
3は配線用プリント板14に接続されコネクタ17を通
して装置から画信号が入力され、画信号に応じて発熱体
11aを発熱駆動!!制御する。発熱体基板11は上記
の通り構成され、基台12に接着剤等により固定取付け
られている。配線用プリント板14は装置から発熱体1
1aを発熱駆動させるために必要な配線パターン(図示
せず)を設けると共に装置と電気的に結合させるための
コネクタ17を有し、基台12に接着剤等で同定取付け
されている。案内体15は第3図に示すように、断面形
状が曲率Rによりなる円形の丸棒で、基台12に形成し
た凹状の溝128に頂点が発熱体基板11の発熱体形成
面より突出(図中h)するよう且つ発熱体列と平行に接
着剤18により接着固定されている。前記案内体15の
突出量れは使用する装置構成に合せて変化させれば良い
。又、前記案内体15は感熱記録ヘッドをコンパクトに
するため発熱体基板11の端部に接近して設けられてい
る。組立工程で基台12に案内体15を先に取付けるこ
とにより、発熱体基板11を基台12に取付けるとき案
内体15に発熱体基板11を付き当てれば、発熱体基板
11の取付けの際に便利であり、基台12に対する発熱
体11aの位置も安定させることができる。保護カバー
16は発熱体駆動用半導体素子13及びその接続部を保
護するもので、発熱体基板11及び配線用プリント板1
G上に接着固定されている。

。このとき案内体15は発熱体基板11の発熱体配列面
よりhだけ突出しているので発熱体基板11に発熱体1
1a部のみで接触させるだけで良い。これは長時間連続
して使用すると発熱体基板11が温度上昇し、少なから
ず印字品質に影響を与えることになるが、本構成によれ
ばそれを防止することができる。又、熱溶融の色材層を
用いる場合には発熱体11aで転写シート19aに熱を
加え一定の距離を受像紙19bと接触させて走行させた
後に、受像紙19bと転写シート19aを分離する方が
印字品質を向上させることができる等、記録の方式ある
いは記録条件等によりこれらの要件が異なるが、発熱体
11aと案内体15の距離を装置に合せて感熱記録ヘッ
ド単体として設定することができ、印字品質を安定させ
ることもできる。案内体15により、発熱体位置から近
い位置で図に示すように装置に案内部材を設けることな
く感熱記録ヘッド側に向けて記録媒体の搬送経路を構成
することができる。

録ヘッド。 2、案内体の発熱体列と直角方向の断面が円形である特
許請求の範囲第1項記載の感熱記録ヘッド。 3、案内体を薄板弾性部材で発熱体列と直角方向に湾曲
させて構成した特許請求の範囲第1項記載の感熱記録ヘ
ッド。 4、案内体を回転自在に構成した特許請求の範囲第1項
又は第2項記載の感熱記録ヘッド。 5、基台の発熱体基板取付面の端部で発熱体列と平行す
