Abstract

PURPOSE:To avoid a sheet from re-skewing by a registration roller by providing a gate at the rear of the registration roller, thereby to remove skewing of a sheet while the registration roller is retreated. CONSTITUTION:The leading end of a sheet 2 transported by a feed roller 1 passes between a registration roller 3 retained at a retreat position by retreating means and a pinch roller 3a and reaches a gate 4. The skewing of the sheet 2 is removed by bringing the leading end of the sheet 2 into contact with a click member 4b of the gate 4. After that, the registration roller 3 is lowered by the retreating means, and brought into contact with the pinch roller 3a through the sheet 2. Simultaneously, the gate 4 is rotated to release the engagement of the click member 4b with the sheet 2. Subsequently, the registration roller 3 is rotated to transport the sheet 2 in a designated timing to a recording portion (e.g. photoreceptor) without re-skewing.

ロー21及びレジストローラ3に圧接されるようになっ
ている。上記レジストローラ3は図示しない退避手段に
よシ上下動自在となっていると共に、レジストローラ3
の後方にはゲート4が設けられている。上記ゲート4は
矢印方向へ間欠回転するロー2部4αの周面に爪体4A
を突設したもので、次のようにして用紙2のスキューを
取除くようになっている。なお退避手段としては、電磁
ンレノイドなどが適用できる。
