It retains lactic acid bacteria, such as Lactobacillus helveticus B-1, which has antibacterial properties against bacteria and an ammonia neutralizing function.

As shown in the figure, the carrier 4 may be encapsulated and arranged in a layer inside the pad body 1a, or distributed in random dots, or the carrier may be formed into a film and layered inside or on the surface of the pad body 1a. Alternatively, it is possible to employ means such as laminating multiple layers. Alternatively, if necessary, two or more of the above lactic acid bacteria powder and a capsule or film made of a carrier may be used in combination. In addition, adding sugars such as lactose and glucose, amino acids, skim milk powder, etc. to the carrier is effective in stabilizing and activating lactic acid bacteria. - In the disposable diaper having the above configuration, the production of urease is suppressed by the antibacterial action of lactic acid bacteria against intestinal bacteria (Proteus), and the production of ammonia due to the catalytic action of this urease is suppressed. Moreover, since the lactic acid bacteria have a neutralizing function against ammonia, even if ammonia is produced, it is immediately neutralized, and diaper rash and odor caused by ammonia are effectively prevented.
