〔考案の技術分野〕 この考案は、不飽和形高圧放電ランプを用いた
照明装置に関するものである。 〔従来技術〕 高圧水銀ランプなどの不飽和形高圧放電灯は、
屋内・屋外を問わず多くの用途に多数用いられて
いる。 しかし、近年の省エネルギーの必要性から、照
明用電力を少しでも節約するために、従来点灯し
ていたランプの何割かを消灯することにより電力
を節約することが行われている。このように間引
き点灯すると、照明している部分の照度ムラが生
じるなどして、作業に支障をきたすなど、実用上
好ましい方法ではない。 また、照明用電力を節約するために、より効率
の高い別種のランプとつけかえる方法もあるが、
この場合には、照明装置の設置し直しのための工
事が必要であり、費用が嵩んだり、またたとえ装
置の設置工事が必要でなく、ランプのみを交換す
る方法を採つたにしても、従来以上の不必要な明
るさになつたり、ランプの光色が著しく違つたり
して、作業に支障を来たすこともしばしばあつ
た。 〔考案の概要〕 この考案は、ランプ電圧を従来より高くした不
飽和形高圧放電ランプをチヨーク形遅相安定器で
点灯することにより、ランプの種類を変えずに、
照明用電力の節約を可能にし、かつ間引き点灯な
どから生ずる照度ムラなどの弊害を起すことな
く、照明装置の消費電力を低減せしめるようにし
たものである。 〔考案の実施例〕 以下図面を用いて、この考案を詳細に説明す
る。 図はこの考案の原理を説明するためのものであ
り、種々のランプ電圧を有する400W高圧水銀ラ
ンプを200V用一般のチヨーク形遅相安定器で点
灯した場合の、ランプ電圧とランプ電力および安
定器入力電力の関係を示す特性図である。図にお
いて横軸にランプ電圧を、縦軸に電力をとり、曲
線Lはランプ電力を、曲線Bは安定器の入力電力
を示す。図から明らかなように、ランプ電圧が上
昇するにつれて、ランプ電力L、安定器入力電力
Bともに上昇するか、ランプ電圧が120V前後
で、L,Bともに最大値に達しランプ電圧が
120Vを越えるとL,Bとも減少する。 従来400W高圧水銀ランプの定格ランプ電圧は
130Vであり、この値でのランプ電力Lは397W、
安定器入力電力Bは436Wであつた。ランプ電力
Lと安定器入力電力Bとの差が安定器の消費電力
であり、ランプ電圧が定格の130Vでの安定器消
費電力は、436W−397W=39Wとなり、39Wであ
つた。 この考案は、図に示す高圧水銀ランプの特性に
着目し、従来よりランプ電圧を高くした高圧水銀
ランプを、チヨーク形遅相安定器で灯せしめるこ

低減を可能にせしめたものである。 第1表に、ランプ電圧が定格の130Vより上昇
した場合の安定器入力電力、入力側電力低減率、
ランプ電力、ランプ側電力低減率および安定器消
費電力を示す。 この表および図から明らかなように、ランプ電
圧が上昇するに従つて安定器入力電力、ランプ電
力ともに大幅に減少し、同時に安定器消費電力も
減少する。 従来、400W高圧水銀ランプの場合は、定格ラ
ンプ電圧は130Vであるが、製造バラツキを考慮
して、120Vから140Vの範囲のランプ電圧を有す
るランプが使用されている。

率は、従来と同様か、または安定器の消費電力の
割合が低減された分だけ、発光効率を改善するこ
とも可能である。 またこの考案において、従来と同じ形状のラン
プを用いれば、ランプ電力が低減された分だけラ
ンプにかかる負荷が軽くなるために、ランプの寿
命の延長が期待できる。 さらに、この考案のランプを点灯した場合、従
来の場合より安定器の消費電力が軽減されるため
に、安定器自身の寿命の延長も期待できる。
