Abstract

PURPOSE:To use a heat pump type foot warmer in place of an electric heater foot warmer by suspending an indoor unit of a heat pump air conditioner on the back surface of the foot warmer and using the foot warmer for space heating in winter, and for speed cooling or dehumidifying in summer and intermediate seasons. CONSTITUTION:An indoor unit 2 is suspended and fixed from and to the back surface of the foot warmer 1. In the space beating driving, when a switch 8 is turned ON, an air flow S1 induced by a blower 4 is heated at a heat exchanger 3 and turned into a hot air flow S2 which heats the room, and the temperature is adjusted to an appropriate value by a room temperature sensor 6 and a controller 8. In a space cooling operation, the foot warmer is set up and its legs 12 are folded inside, thus being installed near a window in the room. An air flow S 21 induced by the blower 4 is absorbed of its heat at the heat exchanger 3 and turned into a cool air flow S 22 to conduct space cooling. The temperature of the whole room is adjusted to an appropriate temperature, by the room temperature sensor 6 and the controller 8. In a defrosting operation, the rotation of the blower 4 is decreased as compared with the case of the space cooling operation, and the air flow amount is decreased and comfortable defrosting is carried out by the switch 7 and the controller 8.

An outdoor unit (not shown) absorbs heat from the outside air, causing high temperatures.
The high-pressure refrigerant gas is supplied to the indoor unit from the piping unit 5. The refrigerant gas exchanges heat with the wind S1 induced by the blower 4 in the heat exchanger 5, radiates heat and condenses to become a refrigerant liquid, which returns to the outdoor unit via the piping unit 5. At this time, the wind S is heated and generates warm air S, and the room temperature sensor 6 and controller 8 adjust the temperature to an appropriate temperature.

The refrigerant liquid sent from the outdoor unit (not shown) exchanges heat with the wind 821 induced by the blower 4 in the heat exchanger 3, absorbs heat, evaporates, becomes refrigerant gas, and returns to the outdoor unit via the piping unit 5. At this time, the wind S21 absorbs heat and cools the room as a cold wind 822. The cold wind 822 can reach far horizontally or upwardly, and the room temperature sensor 6 and controller 8 adjust the temperature of the entire room to an appropriate temperature. In addition, the moisture dehumidified by the wind S21 is received by the drain pan 9 and is discharged outdoors from the piping unit 5.

Generally, the thermal drying method removes moisture without extremely cooling the entire room (using the humidity switch 7, room temperature sensor 6, and controller 8).2 The compressor and blower in the outdoor unit (not shown) and the blower in the indoor unit 4 This method provides comfortable dehumidification (a method that dehumidifies air intermittently without lowering the room temperature).
