Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent invasion of microorganisms and to keep simply freshness of flowers, seeds and stocks, and bulb, by placing hinokitiol in a container having flowers, seeds and stocks, etc. in such a way hinokitiol exists in a vapor state, and storing them in a state having permeability to the outside air. CONSTITUTION:One of more of hinokitiol, its salt and its inclusion compound are impregnated into or attached to a material, which is put in a bag and a container having gas permeability, having flowers, seeds and stocks and/or bulb in such a way that hinokitiol exists in a vapor state so that the flowers, the seeds and stock and/or the bulb are stored in a state having permeability to the outside air. Or the whole or part of the flowers, the seeds and stocks and/or bulb are covered to packaged with a packaging material containing hinokitiol or stored in it in a state having permeability to the outside air. EFFECT:Usable for transporting cut flowers, preventing withering of seeds and stocks, corsage, and flower design, transporting and preserving bulb, preventing contamination by microorganisms, etc.

[Detailed Description of the Invention] [Field of Industrial Application] The present invention relates to a method for maintaining the freshness of flowers such as cut flowers, koshers, and flower designs, seeds, and bulbs. It can be widely used for preventing wilting of flower designs, transporting and preserving bulbs, and preventing contamination by microorganisms.

Conventionally, flowers have been treated with antibiotic preparations, silver preparations, sulfur preparations, etc. to maintain their freshness, and in particular, the use of silver preparations has been the mainstream. In all of these methods, flowers are immersed in an aqueous solution of the drug, and it is troublesome to adjust the concentration to be effective and not cause harmful effects. Furthermore, with the mainstream silver preparations, disposal after use may cause pollution problems. In addition, good medicines were sometimes used for seeds, seedlings, and bulbs, but this was not considered to be good for the hygiene of the handlers.

As described above, conventional treatment methods have involved immersing flowers, seeds, or bulbs in a chemical solution, and no method has been used to maintain freshness without immersing them in a chemical solution.

Recently, cut flowers are not only produced domestically but also imported in large quantities from foreign countries such as New Sealant and the Netherlands, and maintaining freshness during transportation has become a problem. Currently, the main method used is to immerse the cut flower in a silver solution before transporting it, but the cut flower itself absorbs a large amount of silver compounds, which are heavy metals, and this poses health and hygiene problems when disposed of. There is.

As a result of intensive research based on the above request, the present inventors have found that by contacting flowers, seeds, and bulbs with hinokitiol in a vapor state, they can maintain freshness and prevent microbial invasion of scales. They discovered this and completed the present invention.

That is, the method of the present invention is characterized in that it maintains the freshness of flowers such as cut flowers, koshers, flower designs, seedlings, or bulbs, and prevents invasion by microorganisms.
One or more of hinokitiol, salts of ultra-tsukithiol, and their clathrate compounds are arranged in a storage body containing seeds and/or bulbs in such a way that hinokitiol can exist in vapor form, allowing ventilation with the outside air. or in a packaging material containing one or more of hinokitiol, hinokitiol salts, and their clathrates in a state where all or part of the flowers, seedlings, and/or bulbs can be vented to the outside air. In the former method, there are no particular limitations on the shape, material, etc. of the container, other than the requirement that the items stored in the container can come into contact with the outside air, and ordinary storage containers such as metal, plastic, and paper can be used. All possible materials can be used. Regarding contact between the stored items and the outside air, if one side of the stored items is open, for example, if there is no lid, ventilation holes are not particularly required. It is preferable that the storage body itself has ventilation holes. In order to make hinokitiol exist in vapor form in the container, for example, hinokitiol, salts of hinokitiol such as sodium salts and potassium salts, cyclodextrin clathrate compounds of hinokitiol (α-1β-
and/or T-cyclodextrin clathrate)
The purpose is achieved by suspending or dissolving the solution or suspension in an organic solvent or water and attaching it to the inner surface of the container by a conventional method such as coating or spraying. Cloth, non-woven fabric, cellophane, pulp, plastic film, plastic plate, wood piece, metal plate, synthetic resin floor, etc., by dipping, coating, spraying, etc. Impregnated or adsorbed and dried, or solid hinokitiol itself is preferably made of a bag or box-shaped container made of gas-permeable cloth, Japanese paper, nonwoven fabric, perforated polyethylene, etc., or made of metal, synthetic resin, etc. The perforated box-like container can be placed in the storage body.

As the packaging material in the second method of the present invention, among the materials impregnated with or adsorbed with hinokitiol, salts of hinokitiol, or clathrates thereof, materials suitable for packaging such as paper, cloth, nonwoven fabric, cellophane, etc. , pulp, plastic film, etc. are used. When wrapping flowers, it is not necessary to cover the entire area, and a sufficient effect can be obtained by wrapping only a portion, for example, a few centimeters from the cut end. When covering and packaging the entire package, consideration must be given to contact between the outside air and the packaged item by selecting a material with good air permeability or using a perforated packaging material.

Ten sheets of 60cILX6G tan cellophane (manufactured by Fukui Chemical Industry Co., Ltd., +5O) were immersed in the above solution for 5 to 6 seconds, then mangled to remove adhering water, and further dried on a hot plate at 110° C. for 10 seconds. The amount of hinokitiol contained in this cellophane was determined to be 14/WL2 by ultraviolet absorption measurement, and the amount of hinokitiol was uniformly contained in the entire cellophane.
