あり、フェライト、センダスト、ハーマpイ等の磁性材
料で構成される。前記コアにはコイル4とコイル枠5が
設けられている。また前記コアは側面から第1のスライ
ダ2と第2のスライダ3によりてサンドイッチされ、強
度的に保護されている。スライダは耐摩耗性等を考慮し
て、チタン酸カルシウムが通常使用されている。第2g
は従来の磁気ヘッドの断面を示す図である。第1のスラ
イダ2.第2のスライダ5゜コア1で形成されるメディ

ある薄膜の潤滑層であり、カーボンをスパッタすること
により形成している。この潤滑層は耐摩耗性を考慮して
なるべく厚くしたいわけであるが、メディアとコア間の
スペーシング損失とのかねあいから、数百1程度でよい
。この潤滑層の効果により、実験によるとメディア・ヘ
ッド間の摩擦係数は20%程度下がり、接触状態は極め
て良好なものとなる。
