Abstract

PURPOSE:To record/reproduce a signal to/from the both faces of a magnetic tape possible for both sides recording in using the said magnetic tape by moving a rotary head cylinder provided with a tape guide post and a magnetic recording and reproducing head in a direction orthogonal with the longitudinal direction of the magnetic tape. CONSTITUTION:The rotary head cylinder 16 is moved between the non-operating position and the operating position in the direction orthogonal with the longitudinal direction of the tape 2.
